Following potential 2013 draftees

Interesting. I like that. I just hate the noob thing of "who do they play like" .. when it's so hard, with so many variables, to find a comp for most kids..

Disclaimer: I don't hate the question, I totally get the question .. I just hate being put in the spot to 'create' a player that another player plays like .. when it's VERY rarely an adequate comparison.

yeah its easily misconstrued, like the 4/5 thing for kanter some may see that as not having a real position, i feel he can dominate at 4 or 5, also hes kind of got some dirk type 7 going to, maybe hes actualy a legit 5, id endorse that. but for measurments on 4/5s ill use kanter, he is a good example to judge the rebounding skill vs 4/5s as kanter clearly is a rebounding savant.

what do you think about packaging our current wing players, with draft picks. to hand pick in the top 10? IE Hayward S+T + our draft pick(s)+ other replacable assets for Vonleh or Young

I think next year's top 7 is so special I'd be willing to do a lot, for sure. Before I'd give up a Burks or Hayward I'd want to see the kids play (which we'd be able to do), but I'd give up this year's two picks to just sniff the top 10 of next year. 1 - 7 next year will prove to be one of the top 3 all time.

im thinking 03 type draft, id say better. if this kid vonleh can shoot how im lead to believe idk what i can say about him, he looks like a cross between tyreke evans and perry jones with major attitude. and if he can shoot.... i dont want to get stuck on 1 player, honestly im thinking this class is better than 03.

this guy is in the bottom of the top 10... ?

someone please humor me on Trading up for Trey burke this year vs trading up for Kasey Hill next year.

id compare kasey hill whos a true 1. to be a mashup of allen iverson/ricky rubio/lillard/jennings and hes clearly a floor general. i plan to judge this kid (and harrison) vs the D.Rose CP3 Gold standard, thats laughable with burke imho

I said the exact same thing about 5 pages back.

i missed one, 1/2's deron. because he can dominate at both, not because hes not a pure 1, (i have ALWAYS preferred cp3 and invite anyone to debate whos better)

john wall fits as a 1/2 in my book, the gold standard to me in 1/2's are Walt Frazier and Deron, or if its 1 player Oscar Robertson

EDIT; Burks i veiw as a 1/2 not the grade of the players mentioned whatsoever but hes got a high learning curve, imo. and most importantly for 1/2's hes not reckless.

kasey at florida next year, trying to deal with the factory that is kentucky.

reminds me of when cp3 had to deal with JJ reddick and those duke teams that stole the hearts of america (lol)

im 25, i really watch lots of basketball, its something ive always done. ive read a few of john woodens books years ago. i love being an eastcoast jazzfan because i can watch games all day then my team starts at 10:30 and finishes out the night. (i watch a bunch of games at once)

i have a bar bet that ive been able to pull for years. on any nba game i can name all 10 of the players on the floor colleges or territories, in 1 minute, then i do the bench for fun.

i cant kick these chicks off my couch fast enough, ive got good problems, like the jazz.

i was the type of 15 year old who had johan santana on my fantasy team before he was an established starter (and it wasent a coincidence). i sorta came from a broken home and used to tune it out by shooting around and watching sports, basketball is my favorite. my friends will tell you im a walking encyclopedia and would vouch for my judgement as 10/10, im a quick learner, i taught myself how to count blackjack 10 different ways in less than 3 months @20 y/o(dont play anymore). now at 25 i write algorithms and im thinking on how to teach myself mandarin in a short amount of time. but during my leisure i like to check this site

i was 9 during that game but thats when i first watched cbb, to check out tim duncan. somehow i remember understanding that the celtics and spurs were obviously tanking for a college player, ifound that peculuar as a youngster so i went out of my way to watch a wake forest game, i fell in love with wake that first game, its a hell of a home court, and tim duncan was rediculous in college and the story with his mom hit home with me, thats definetly the story that got me into CBB

my favorite wake game was when jeff teague dropped 20 on i think #1 UNC in the first half, i drink in binges. ive never been told by any bartenders they wouldent serve me drinks anymore (this is right when i turned 21) teague was unstoppable that day, same day the "miracle on the hudson" happened here in NY. and i was sitting at this particular bar alone at 4because i missed my shift at work, was supposed to show in the morning and i showed for lunch. im sitting in this bar alone, in walks the hottest girl from my hs, whos also the class president, and basically an angel. me im an ex juvenile delinquent, hs dropout. totally swept her off her feet that day, thats the story of my favorite CBB game, and ive won a good amount of $$ betting, so yeah wake always has a special place in my heart, but kentucky is my team, cals system is the best, he reminds me of me(Italian). but wake is my team in the acc.

I'd give up 5 years worth of draft pick for this guy.

hes the best pure 1 ive seen in hs since idk. maybe paul. definetly impresses me more than jennings in hs who was a MONSTER(in the drose hs game i posted a few years back the only one on oak hill who matched the intensity of senior d.rose was sophomore brandon jennings)

id give up lots of assets, no player i saw in hs last impressed me in the way that this kid does(i saw him last year also). any good thing you can say about burke this kid has, in spades.

burkes dribble is crafty, this kid will leave you flatfooted in the dust. big difference imo

floor general is an understatement. as it is with cp3.

and he might not even be in the top 5 next year, what a class...

sorry to bring up the enemy pkm, i know youd probably be jumping down anyone elses throat about talking best pg prospects when andrew harrison is a PG, but from what ive seen, Andrew looks like hed kill it at the 2 if necessary.

also the twins measurements fit into the latrell spreewell 2/3 mold ive cited. so if harrison is actualy a pure 1 (like i said pure 1's and pure 5's must be on an individual basis imho) ive gotta see it before i believe it, never encountered a player like that in all my years. id take em over wiggins, if he is what we think he is.

in most of my simulations in 2k13 the first trade i do is with the magic right off the bat involving the jazz picks this year and next + burks and millsap and grab their 2013 and 2014 picks. in the 2013 draft i trade the pick for some other teams pick in 2014 that should suck. then i end up with 2 top 10 picks, the magic stay bad for a while no-matter how many simulations u do. then right after the lottery in 2014 i add expendable assets to my 2 top 10's to grab the number 1 and number 2 picks, and take Andrew Wiggins and Andrew Harrison. then i fire the coach and bring in a fastbreak coach.

in my 80-2, Utah Jazz 2017 championship season, that sim i didnt get harrison, and i kept alec burks. i ran a tight rotation like Cal does. heres the squad, ihave even more hilarious team-stats ill get to if anyone finds this sim amusing. also i played the bobcats in the finals this particular year.

John Wall, 41mpg, 22ppg, 5.2rebs, 7.7asts 2.4stls(LL), 1st team all nba
Hayward, 31mpg, 16ppg, 6.2 rebs, 4.1asts, 1.0 stls, 1.6blocks, 50% 3's (LL), 295/296 fts
Wiggins, 37mpg, 17ppg, 9.1 rebs, 4.8asts, 1.7stls, 1.9blocks, 3rd team all nba.
Favors, 40mpg, 17.6ppg, 12rebs(LL), 3.1asts, 2.2blks(LL), 2nd team all nba.
Kanter, 41mpg, 25ppg, 11.7rebs, 4asts, .9stl, 1.9blks, 1st team all nba, MVP. (kanter wins the mvp alot in my sims, especially when i run a fastbreak or quick shot offense)

Goodwin, 31mpg, 15ppg, 4.6rebs, 4.8asts, 1.4 stls, .9blks, 6th man.

Burks and Brandon knight would start everywhere else they get barely any minutes on this team, my first big off the bench is jeremy tyler, but favors and kanter play over 40 mins.

Cool stories. Thanks for sharing bro.

I think this draft will prove to be not as bad as some will think. Of course it will pale in comparison to next years, but I still think we could get a nice point guard.

The Jazz should consider packaging their picks if it means drafting Trey Burke. Great player out of Michigan.

Np. ive started a thread in the general discussion, where im going to direct all my off-topic inquiries id rather stay focused on the kids here in this thread. i get off-topic quick.

dunk of the year!!!

hes still 19, younger then many of the players in this draft. i love mkg, i used to watch kyrie in HS and literally every game i saw, MKG stole the show.

i mostly try to keep my player comparisons kind of close to the body-type, not so outside-the-box.

MKG in particular i see as an ULTIMATE glue guy, not like a skilled glue guy or versatile player. my player comparison is Derek Jeter/Captain America.

i wonder what you think of this trade pkm.

Hayward + DMC + our 1st this year for MKG. think we could pull that off? think mj would? would you do it? i would

also if Otto Porter is top 5 material... how does he compare to MKG? (not directed at pkm)

Uggh, wouldn't trade Hayward for MKG.

Porter >>>>> MKG

I don't think the Bobcats do it. MKG is doing well enough, is so likeable/marketable, and he's only a rookie. Would I do it if the Jazz? Yes.
