The Core Four

Though everyone is pretty upset about last night, I am quite encouraged about what I saw. this is the 1st game that you could make an argument that all of the core four played well.

Kanter had 18 and 10 last night along with a block, a steal, an assist and ONLY 1 Turnover. he also shot over 50 percent

Favors had 23 and 15 along with a block shot an assist, and a steal. also, this was in just 30 minutes and he only had 2 turnovers. he shot over 50 percent too.

Hayward had a big load last night and though he struggled from the field, he still played well and he made some plays.
Hayward had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He did have a few TO's but as I said before, he had a lot of pressure on him with Big AL out-- Gordon was in some ways the focal point of the offense in that he was an initiater to a greater extent than before. He'll get better in the areas where he struggled.

Burks was the biggest suprise to me last night.
Burks had 19 points on 7-10 shooting, 3 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. he did have 6 TO's but that is like what russell Westbrook averages a quarter, so we should be okay. haha, okay, seriously, we are asking him to do a lot at PG and he is learning. He's getting better and I think he should be fine.

I shouldn't leave out Carroll. He played well and he should end up being a great role player for us
Carrol had e boards, an assist, 3 steals, and 13 points on 5-8 shooting.

I am excited about the direction of this team. I think the JAzz are headed in the right direction and i actually think that if the Jazz can Defend well, we don't need a number one option. If KAnter and Favors can Defend in the post and we can guard the perimater, we'll be fine. we could be like the pistons of 04. we just need a lindsey Hunter type player. and of course a PG that is a top 7ish talent in the league. Plus, I think KAnter has a chance to become a very good offensive player. maybe even Dirk-esk just not quite as good.

Really, We just need a PG for the future who will fit well with this team. What are your thoughts about this team not needing a #1 option but still being a contender? discuss...

The only sad thing seems to be that we may not see another performance like this from the core four until next season. With AL and Mo coming back, Jazz basketball will become slightly less exciting.

It has been very fun to watch the core4 lately while there have been injuries. (and demarre should be added to the core4 too IMO)

Too bad the team will be healthy soon

That's good attitude right here.

The best part was seeing Enes that clutch. Not only the scoring but also defense. He did not panic. I consider him as being the member of the C4 who has the smallest basketball IQ but it appears he will be so much more than what he shows when he locks on to the win. Favors as always is a boss. Burks will be a great 2 whether if we allow or not. The thing I like about Hayward the most is his defense. He is a player that needs to be on court, because he always makes it up to his team when he is gone cold. And he won't be that cold usually.

That could be potentially horrible if you have Big Al in the post playing D behind him.

Foye is garbage. Utah was thinking the right thing by getting him but he turned out to be a dud. We need a legit 6'10 3 point threat. THats all that he would do. I cant think of anyone off the top of my head but there are a handful of players like this in the league. This would alleviate the double team on our bigs

haha, there is like one guy in the entire league who is a legit 6'10" and can shoot the three. His name is Matt Bonner, and other than that he is trash. The last one was Memo, and he played inside too. Don't know that we need another tall guy who can shoot. We just need shooting guards who can shoot, drive and defend. So.... Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward? Yeah, they just need playing time. Oh, and we need someone other than Watson to play PG.

Not sure if those guy's are 6'10, but they are most likely 6'9, so it would be splitting hairs.

Bargnani sucks. Yeah, get Durant and we are the best team ever, but how is that ever going to happen? Also, Durant is not what you would call a legit 6'10" in a traditional sense, he is super skinny and can only play PF in spot situations. He gets pushed around on defense too much. He is a freak of nature small forward.

What is your philosophy on why we would be better with a big man who can shoot? I think we need to have a better option than throwing out 3 or 4 of basically the same players in our big man rotation, but I am not sold on the stretch 4 yet.

Yes, it will be very interesting to see what happens when everyone is healthy.

Bwahahahahahahahaha.

Is that you KOC? Whatever you do, please, please, please don't make any moves this summer that will allow us to find out what this team can be when healthy.

Please.
