Off season question on rosters

I forget, how many spots can a team have....15? And how many can actively be on the bench, 12 or 13. Anyone know the details of how roster work with injury etc?

15 is the max and 13 is the minimum. Active roster is 12 per game and each team can assign a maximum of 2 players to their D-League team. By the way, there is no such thing as "IR" any more. Each team just declares who will be inactive on game day: so no more making up fake injuries. I'm not sure how many a team can invite to training camp. Seems like the Jazz always have around 18 or so. Assuming Fes signs, I think they'd be up to 17, depending on whether Scheyer is in or out; there have been conflicting reports.

Williams, Price, Gaines, Scheyer?
Bell, Miles, Jeffers, Thompson
AK, Hayward, Evans
Millsap, Jefferson, Nichols
Okur, Elson, Fesenko?

Am I missing anyone?

I'm ready for fantasy :)

So with memo being injuried I assume he always counts as one of the 3 IR's ? I seem to remember some kind of exception to this with the d-league. If we send a player down can't we add another player for 10 days or something?

The better way to put it would be that you are allowed 15 guarenteed contracts. And have to have 13. And 12 active players are allowed per game.

A couple of related notes, because at least one of them has come up before.

* The 15-player limit only applies during the regular season. In the offseason, teams can have more than 15 contracts. That just means that they will have to trade one (or more) players or eat some salary to get to 15 by cut down day.
* During the season, if a team is hit hard by injuries, they can receive permission to go over the 15 contract limit temporarily (i.e. if 5 guys are injured, they may sign 2 more so they can dress 12)
* 13 is the minimum in general, but teams can temporarily drop below that for two weeks. The Jazz did this when they traded both Maynor and Brewer last year.
