Gamethread: jazz in Cleveland playing "just one game" at 17:00

Right. You play the guy who is playing the best. Monday, that guy was Favors. Today it was Kanter. Doesn't seem like a difficult concept to grasp. Perhaps it is for you. And Corbin.

Considering Kanter was playing great on Monday as well that arguement does not hold water. Perhaps that arguement is hard for you to grasp. I suggest using a chart called a "boxscore".

Who was playing better through 3 quarters Monday? Kanter or Favors?

You do of course realize that Kanter and Favors can be on the court at the same time, right?

I didn't see a whole lot of problems tonight that can't be fixed. Earl's 7 minutes might have killed that game for us but otherwise a lot of things were encouraging about that game.

Yes I do. However the post I quoted that started this little tiff was hitting Ty for sitting Kanter for Favors. Not asking For Favors and Kanter to play together. It all ties back into making a good arguement against Ty for the poor coaching choices that he makes.

To much bitching for the sake of bitching.

Bad arguement when there are three bigs. Which 2 were playing the best, and where best for the close end game. Favors, Kanter and/or Sap?

Not an argument, just a question. I understand why you chose to dodge the question. No worries. What we do know for certain is that Favors is one of the two who were playing the best. Yet he is the guy who sat the bench for 17 minutes. You gotta love it baby!

This. Watson should not see the floor. Why is Marvin playing the 4? If you are that far downt he 4 then try Evans. But Kudos to Ty for trying something new I guess. I would have given more time to Kanter andCarroll at the expense of Marvin.

Also Foye should not be guarding the best wing player in crunch time. Carroll, Hayward and Burks are better for that. Also once again, I think it should have been Favors and Kanter closing out the game.

I am not dodging the question. There is a legitimate gripe against Corbin here. It just is not the RAWR Kanter or Favors that is being thrown around. We needed better D in the post against Milwuakee. Favors and Kanter provide that with no downgrade to the O.

I am just trying to get people to think about the real problem and stop parroting crap that was a reaction in the heat of the moment.

Mo Williams on Kyrie Irving: "His potential is phenomical." Works for me.

I like Amico.

Byron Scott on Cavs' 104-101 win over Jazz: "We got lucky. That was a gift."

But I've never cared much for Byron Scott.

i would not call it trying it something new.
corbin feels he woes marvin watson and other vets minutes.
so he will give them minutes

I am not dodging the question.

It was a simple yes or no answer. You didn't answer so you dodged it. That can't be argued.

I mentioned a pretty simple concept that you play the guy who is playing best - on Monday that was Favors, tonight it was Kanter. You criticized Jazz fans for ripping Corbin on Monday for not playing Favors, then on Wednesday for not playing Kanter despite the fact that Jazz fans complaints in those situations are completely logical considering they wish the coach would go with the guy who is playing best.

All that said, I think we are in agreement that both guys should be playing more. That Kanter got just 21 minutes with the way he was playing tonight and no Jefferson, is a travesty.

The scary thing is Jefferson coming back soon and Enes being back to 2-16 minutes a game. Can you imagine? It's totally inevitable!

Yes it can. Just becasue I did not answer in the manner you wished me to does not mean I did not answer. The insistance on a Kanter or Favors scenario is faulty. I maintain that the arguement, and there is a legit one there, can be better made.

I agree on the 21 minutes for Kanter. He should have gotten Marvins minutes at the 4. The Four are clearly showing they are capable and can produce. Plus these tight close games are the perfect "fire" for them right now.

At least the season's over and the games don't mean anything to me anymore. Hell I'd almost prefer we just suck for the rest of the season - I'm sure even our FO won't be satisfied with the status quo if we miss the playoffs to the hated Lakers.

The only thing that makes me sad is that it'll be another 7 months before seeing the young guys play significant minutes.

I am very pleased that Mo came back and Burks still got time. However, as Franklin and I tlaked about in another thread, the real worry is when Mo is up to full speed and Tinsley is back as well.
