Jazz preparing to tank for Jabari Parker?

Parker won't be a great NBA player. He's skilled, crafty, good scorer, but lacks that elite athleticism that would allow him to become a superstar in the mold of LeBron.

Wiggins>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Parker.

Agree that Wiggins is better but disagree on Parker's impact. I think he'll be VERY good.

Sorry, perhaps great was an unclear word. All I'm really saying is I don't see him as a top 5-10 NBA player. I would be VERY surprised if Wiggins wasn't a top 10 player within three years.

We're not a high lotto team without Al and Paul. The sad thing is, whether true or not, people speculate that this is what the FO thinks, which is obvious by the way we sign and play vets in a desperate scramble as if we're staving off a catastrophe.

Jabari would be great for a team with a solid core. Jabari will not be great if he is needed as a savior for an organization.

I wouldn't be certain that Jabari Parker is the target. The article in question is on RealGM (link below). It might mean, however, that we're not in a hurry to pay a FA a lot of money. As fans, we may not like what the FO is doing, but at least they seem to know what they're doing. They turned down the Bledsoe deal. I just don't see the Jazz finishing worse next year than we will this year, especially if we get any semblance of a PG.

Dude. Read the whole article. It is on grantland. It does not talk about the jazz tanking. There is no way they can tank that bad to get a top pick. They would trade away some stuff or take bad contracts to get a high pick.

I would hope our organization isn't one that is okay with tanking. It's one of many blemishes with the NBA IMO. I don't see the difference between it and the black sox in baseball. It's classless and an insult to the NBA.

How many LDS players have the Jazz signed or traded for? I can't remember one. Not a single one. They didn't even trade up for 'the Jimmer'. They want good character guys to have a stable locker room without them getting in the paper for the wrong reasons, not because of the fan base.

(pretty sure Thurl converted after his playing days, and definitely not before he came here)

Thurl Bailey (he converted in '95. Played with the Jazz through the '98-'99 season)
Tom Chambers
Fred Roberts

I know there's been a number invited to training camp that never made the cut.

we are too good to tank. Enes Kanter and his friends are better than this years milwaukee and milwaukee is a playoff tea

It's too bad Lindsey wasn't here last year. We would have played our young guys, ended up with a top 5 pick, and had Lilliard and Barnes on this team right now.

Mormons are ballers, wait till the Jazz draft Davies. JF will **** their pants.

Davies sucks.

Look at the top 2 LDS big men from that year: Davies and Olson.

Davies hasn't improved since his freshman year, didn't go on a mission, has 2 kids from 2 different women (neither one holds the title of "wife"), and is done playing basketball for the rest of his life.

Olson went on a mission, has improved vastly from even the beginning of the year, is still a freshman, and has potential (like Davies had) to play in the NBA.

I think Utah did a much better job preparing their young man for life than BYU did.

FYI there is a lot of false info in this post. Davies does suck, but thats about the only truth written. The first girl faked a pregnancy to try and get him back, no idea as to what you are talking about with a 2nd child, I know brandon fairly well, well enough to know he has 0 kids and plays like a girl
