What's your point? He wouldn't get more then 6-7 rebounds per in the NBA. He's not NBA caliber. If he was he'd have made an effort to play in the USA. Plus he'd probably play over Kanter knowing our coach.

If KOC could use him to get an extra draft pick or use him in a trade as an asset I would be all for it.

Who wants to do the per 40 numbers. Very good that is for sure. Definitely something to look at if we do not re-sign Jefferson.

Tomic sounds pretty awesome as a 3rd big.
7 rebounds leads the league???

They play slow and physical basketball in Europe. Each quarter only has 10 minutes, so most of the players get under 30 minutes per game. Solid bigs get around 25 minutes per game. All these facts might explain the lack of monstrous stats.

Yeah, he would not be a bad backup but rather a 4th big.

Come on. If Al Jefferson is a first big on this team, then how bad can Tomic at 3rd big be?

The real question is, would we be ok with having him and Jeremy Evans be the primary backup big men? If so, we would go from the burliest starting lineup (kanter and favors) in the nba, to the skinniest bigs in the league. If this is the case, we probably ought to have someone like Fesenko to bruise with other big second units.

That's true and I don't want to sign a ****ty big like Fes or Perkins.

This guy can play.

Jazz need to bring Ante Tomic over and lock him into a multi-year deal.

He's a 7'2" cross between Pau Gasol and Roy Hibbert.

Kanter and Tomic at C would be the start of something special in the middle for the Jazz.

Tomic would make a nice 3rd big coming off the bench. I agree he's not NBA starter quality, but he could be a back up for us.
He can score and rebound the ball well. His defense blows though

I agree 200%!

A recent writeup on Tomic's improved game from realgm's euro contact:

The reason why Ante Tomic is on this list is not the numbers he produces, which are similar to 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, or the results achieved by FC Regal Barcelona. No doubt, FC Regal Barcelona is currently the best team in Europe and Tomic is one of team's main strengths.

The consistency of Tomic in Euroleague Top 16 stage is the difference as the Croatian center constantly plays as an MVP on every game. Tomic became a game changer as he leads the Euroleague in plus-minus (+/-) rating with 13.1 points per 50 possessions. Tomic finished in double scoring figures in all ten Top 16 stage games so far and if the 25-year-old center maintains this pace, he has all the potential to be considered as a candidate to win MVP award in near future.

Ante Tomic update
We’ve seen him play, probably, in person, I saw him play in person three times in December, and Dennis has seen him. And Rich Sheubrooks, our global, director of global scouting, has seen him a couple of times. So, more than a couple of times.

So, yeah. We’re in tune with where he’s at, and we’re gonna have some conversations with him. Last year, he did not have a good year, and he actually went from Real Madrid to Barcelona…He’s had a very good year this year. One of the better young centers over there.

So we will have a conversation, and you know, sometimes players are very comfortable in where they’re at, and they don’t have the itch to go yet. So that will be a conversation. That’s all part of the off-season.

In 22 Euroleague games this season, Ante Tomic has started 20 games, averaging nearly 23 minutes per game (third most on the team; Euroleague games are 40 minutes long). Tomic is averaging 11.7 points on 63.4-percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Looks like Tomic is in the Jazz's future, at least, if Tomic wants to be.
