Following potential 2013 draftees

I liked Spy's rundown of Burke. Let me add one thing:

One thing I look for in a cbb pg when I'm evaluating his NBA potential is his ability to get to any spot on the floor (for a shot or a dish). In the minutes I've seen Burke play, he gets high marks in this capacity.

(our current pgs absolutely suck at this).

Ford has the Jazz taking Burke at #14 in his current mock lotto.

Ford's summary:

Burke is classic point guard who can do just about everything. He's got the perfect balance of scoring and helping others, and he plays almost mistake-free basketball. He's an excellent shooter, a fearless floor leader and a much improved defender. If he were a little taller or more of an explosive athlete, he'd be ranked even higher.

Someone want to chime in on this? That Sandy Braille dude seems to watch a lot of Burke. Has his defense really improved?

I'm only here a few more weeks, so I need to cram in all the pimping I can. Must see highlights:

Yes. His on ball defense, particularly in clutch-situations, is I think what Ford is referring to. He has really clocked in on playing formidable defense, and using his length to deny passing lanes, and prevent dribble penetration inside the three point line.

I swear to you, Burke has no major flaws. His finishing ability isn't at an all-star level-- is my major knock on him. But guess what? We have Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter to make up for it

Give me a PG who can shoot on the move, get players into their spots, and punish other teams for leaving him open, or giving him open trails towards the hoop.

I have thought that Burke was the perfect fit for this team since last year, and it is becoming growingly obvious with every passing week.

I am PRAYING for a mediocre NCAA campaign for Burke.

I want him on this team more than I wanted Lillard, ever. We need this kid, so damn badly.

I'd trade both picks for Burke in a flash, if he goes 9th or something.

It was really good that Syracuse lasted longer in their tournament than Michigan did. I also think the combine will help MCW's stock more than Burke's. There is hope, my friend.

The team I'm most worried about taking Burke is Dallas. The other lottery teams just don't need PG's. My hope is that MCW's stock stays high enough for Dallas to take him over Burke, or maybe, just maybe, we can avoid this problem if Dallas passes us in the standings. We're only 2.5 games ahead of them right now.

IMO, The Kings, Pistons, Bobcats, Magic, Suns, and even could Sixers draft him. The Kings have no good point guards. None. The Pistons have a couple of very solid young bigs and could really use a pg since Knight's clearly not that. Are the Bobcats that sold on Kemba Walker? Maybe, maybe not. The Suns on Dragic? Maybe, maybe not. The Magic on Jameer? I doubt it.

Some of those teams will likely draft too high to really even consider Burke but the Pistons, Kings, and even Sixers (despite numbers, I'm not sure how sold they are on Holiday) as well as Dallas could go after him. Thankfully for us, none of those teams (other than Detroit's bigs) really have anything that special so it's not like point guard is their biggest need necessarily.

To partially answer your post spycam..

Michigan games are all I have really been watching due to school and workload. I think Fords summary is right on. I've mentioned his strengths and weaknesses in past posts (and kind of stopped posting about him cause I didnt want to wear out my welcome), but my favorite aspect of his game is that he just keeps improving - on both sides of the ball. Yes, he is a smarter defender than last year. Overall, he will have a down game here and there but who doesn't.

Burkes drive and leadership is why I think the Jazz should draft him. He has the desire to continue to learn and improve his game within the system he is playing in, he is constantly helping his teammates improve/enjoys coaching them, and he sincerely wants to win every time and gets a little pouty if doesn't. The fact that we haven't seen his ceiling is what's most interesting to me. He won't get taller, but he'll get stronger and smarter as time goes on.

We have no idea how he will perform in the NBA, but I am really hoping he ends up on a team that has a legit system on offense and incorporates the pick n roll. I think he will struggle if he ends up on an anything goes type of team.

Marshall Henderson is the biggest *** clown I have ever seen.

Missed the game, but I guess this was one of the highlights...

I just saw some fool for wisconsin shooting jumpshots on his free throw attempts. WTF

No way you're serious.

I am serious.... i dont watch hardly any college ball.

Is this something that i should have known for a long time? Is he one of the guys that have been discussed often in this thread?

I never heard about this jump shooting free thrower before, for reals. I laughed when i saw it though

Speaking of wisc v Ohio at... I'd love to have Aaron craft on the jazz. Intense and an amazing perimeter defender. Draft him to come off the bench and wreck havoc

I like what little i have seen of him also.
it seems like a have seen him for a few years now, must be a senior, and he seems poised and intelligent and hard working, if unspectacular
