Following potential 2013 draftees

Burke, saric, muscala if we stay we're we are (also like McDermott)

wcs, saric, wolters if we can get another late first

or a swing for the fences and go wcs, McCullum, McDermott

Help me out here. I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to say...

I think Patric Young is going to be a decent defensive oriented back-up big, the likes of which we can get in the 2nd round. There are others, sure. I said Patric Young-type. I haven't watched him much in the past year. I'm just assuming he's a part of the reason the Gators are highly ranked.

I'm saying I don't think he is big enough, or good enough defensively, to make up for his lack of other skills. There is 0 reason for us to draft him. I'd rather take a riskier pick in the 2nd round rather than a homeless man's Ben Wallace.

Who are you talking about?

And nothing about drafting McDermott says "swing for the fences".

no deductive reasoning, you must be a police officer, McCollum.

McDermott is a prolific scorer, if he proves he can defend at all the next level and can play the 3 he will be the next Wally sczerbiak (spelling) and probably the steal of the draft.

I was joking a bit there. Your review of PY was pretty clear.

So let me just say this.. I think you, X, are misunderstanding the meaning of swing for the fences..

Well there is a PG named McCallum who some have talked about on here, so yeah, the correct spelling of a name is needed and isn't that hard.

McDermott is a super unathletic PF who is too small to play the position in the NBA. He is too unathletic to guard 3's. If Derrick Williams can't be a 3, why would McDermott? His only chance of having an impact in the NBA is as a stretch 4, but like I said, he is probably too small to do that well enough.

I guess if your definition for "swing for the fence" is by hoping an already developed player is able to completely overcome a severe disadvantage, then yeah. Really there are no "swing for the fence" picks in the 2nd round, because it's the 2nd round.

let me explain this and I will use small words so you understand. "swing for the fences" is a baseball metaphor meaning you either get a home run or strike out. in drafting you either get a good player or nothing at all no middle ground. do I need to explain what a metaphor is to help you?

So every pick is a "swing for the fence", so the phrase has no meaning at all in terms of differentiating your sets of draft scenarios?

same philosophy that got Michael redd drafted in the second round.

Just stop. His point is there is no batter/prospect in the 2nd round that is capable of hitting a home run. Historically, this is nearly always true.

Click my name, look to the left, add to ignore list.

It's not that hard.

Are you Hotttnickkk's alt, or is it the other way around?

With kentucky having suck a bad year, is it a sure thing that WCS and Poythress both leave for the nba?

Patric Young effing blows. PKM, back me up. He has 0 potential to do anything well. Not a good rebounder, too short, not enough skill, terrible ft shooter, terrible offensive skills. The only positive is that he is super strong.

He seems like maybe a worse version of Joel Anthony.
