Following potential 2013 draftees

At this point it's funny because most mock drafts don't suit the team for their needs. Lots will change between now and draft night.

Good to see people are catching up on GR3.

I've been saying this for the longest time, my dream draft = Draft Burke & Glen Robinson III.

For better worse, I filed this away to memory many weeks ago. You will be either praised or bashed based upon their production in the league.

As mediocre as this draft may be, it's pretty important that the Jazz don't make the playoffs. We'll do well to come out of the draft with either Burke or McCollum.

True, but remember, I'm not saying I'd take Burke & GR3 as the #1 and #2 picks of the draft. I'd take them where we're picking which could be around $10-#14 and #18-#22.

My prediction is that these players would out-play their expectations at those picks - which to me is a pretty safe prediction.

Used to think the Kings might pick a PG if they can get Smart/Burke.

Watching this game I think they should be plenty happy with Isiah Thomas, he's pretty decent.

And has been.....

What games tonight should I be excited about?

Miami-Marquette. Just for the sake of watching Shane Larkin of course.

Syracuse and Indiana should be a good matchup as well. I think Syracuse is going to win, not that big of a fan of Indiana.

On a side note, a really interesting matchup tonight is going to be Vander Blue (Marquette) going against Durand Scott (Miami). Blue has been on fire this tournament, and Scott is the reigning ACC defensive player of the year. I personally think Scott is a nice 2nd round sleeper, he's athletic, shoots fairly decently and plays great defense. And that's Hal's matchup of the day!

/ I promise to never speak in first person again
// That's definitely a lie.
/// I'm going to do it a lot.

I scouted four games (vs Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Duke, NC St.) of Shane Larkin to get a better idea of how he scores the ball. The stats show he has a very well rounded scoring game. Here is where his offense comes from:

Spot up 3-pointers: ~29% of total points scored

Free throws: ~17% of total points scored

Low post up moves: ~13% of total points scored

Fast break opportunities: ~13% of total points scored

High post moves: ~11% of total points scored

Mid range spot up jumpers: ~6% of total points scored

Drives: ~4% of total points scored

Offensive put-back's: ~4%

Alley-oop dunks: ~2% of total points scored

Larkin seems to be a really underrated 3-point shooter. It's where he gets the majority of his points from, and in these games he shot 64% (9/14) on spot up 3's. On the season he's shooting 42% on 3.5 attempts per game from 3.

Another area that really stood out was his ability to score out of the high post. 11% of his offense came here, but the more impressive thing was that he shot 71% from the high post (post moves outside of 10 feet is how I measured it). It's a small sample size, but I do believe he has an elite post game for a perimeter player his age.

He aslo scores out of the low post, and gets to the FT line at a great rate like any good scorer should.

The main thing missing from his scoring arsenal is his ability to take his man off the dribble. But, he's better at it than the 4% would suggest, cause sometimes he would drive, then be met by another defender and end up shooting a jump hook out of the low/high post, so I counted the points in those categories.

He scores all over the court, both within the flow of the offense (coming of screens for spot up jumpers etc.) and by creating his own shot. If he ever improves his handle the way he improved his 3-pointer (that was one of the nocks on his game coming out out of high school), then watch out.

All very awesome points UGG.

One of the reasons I want him to stay in school longer is the drastic improvement he made from his freshman to sophomore year, and it would be interesting to see how much he improves next year. The only downside to him returning is that he would basically be the only returning player that actually plays, and that could lead to some poor habits. We shall see.

Syracuse vs Indiana would be my game today with Triche vs Oladipo the matchup to watch for.

Also want to see if MCW can step up in a big game.

Spy loves you.

I will admit that I have never read through any of your versions of this but I laugh every time I see them.
