What's new

The OUTRAGEOUS.. the STUPENDOUS UTAH JAZZ host the overmatched OKC snaps 4/9 @ 7pm

if foye brought anything to the table consistently, to make up for his inconsistent but sometimes gamewinning ability to shoot the three ball, i would be more than happy to keep him on next year. seriously anything, a driving game, good defence, passing, setting screens, hustle, anything. but i just can't see anything apart from jacking up treys.

All of this.

Don't think either is back next year. Call me a sucker, but I have faith in devin Lindsay. I think we draft cj McCollum and get someone like Eric maynor to hold us over until he is ready to start. I think burks takes foyes minutes next year. Hopefully.

Best case scenario right here.

Although getting teague or bledsoe would be even better.

Everyone needs a sharp shooter coming off the bench. You don't like him because he starts and plays tons more minutes then he should, but coming off the bench and playing no more then 20 minutes would be good for the jazz.

Also he'd be valuable as he can play both pg and sg off the bench. Also think he'd be a lot more consistent shooter coming off the bench playing less minutes.

I for one hope we sign Foye. As for Mo, we may need to sign him out of necessity if we are unable to sign one of the better free agent pg's or trade for Bledsoe.

I agree with you about foye, but i still would rather have hayward and burks get all the minutes at the 2, than hayward, burks and foye splitting the minutes 3 ways.

While I completely agree with you that there would be a reason its not happening. Every interview with Lindsey and KOC they have said that Corbin is doing a great job. Have a hard time seeing the Jazz fire him after all the praise and the extention the FO gave him. So you might as well just get used the the fact that Corbin is going to be back next year. Regardless.

The bolded part isn't quite true. I posted in here about an interview with Lindsey I heard about 3-4 weeks ago, on 1280. He did say Corbin had a hard task managing the vets & youth, but stopped short of being completely complimentary. And he said that they would be evaluating Corbin's performance after the season, just like they would be doing with the players. From that I gathered that it is a real chance they might not bring back Corbin next year.

It is obvious that the Jazz are not good enough to beat the elite teams consistently.

and I do believe the front office will act on this. I think that behind closed doors they admit that Mo, Big Al, and Sap are not cornerstones to build a team around. They have to see that the energy for this team is just not there from the fan base.

This gave me at least a tiny glimmer of hope. I want to believe it, I want to believe that both Paul and AL will command too much money and Utah opts to S&T or release them. I want to believe that Mo is gone and we retain Foye to provide about 20 min a game in a 7th man role. Alas, I cannot. Darn Utah's insistence on being slightly above average and their traditions of loyalty that defy everything that is sane. Whatever, it's fun watching a team stand around while the designated passer force feeds Al who then shimmies/shakes until everyone falls asleep. All Hail tradition.

So Lindsey probably has the most mystery and intrigue of anyone in the Jazz organization. When he talks on the radio, as he does every Friday at 5:00pm, I get the sense that he is holding back, only giving a few brief glimpses of his views & feelings. He frequently refrences how well KOC had set up this team for this offseason, but many of the harder questions he does a Texas tip-toe around. What I haven't figured out is if he is going to fall in line and let Greg & KOC call the shots, or if they are going to give him free rein to make changes where he sees the need.

Offseason should be fun.

I actually didn't have much of an issue with Ty in this game, other than keeping Sap instead of Favors in the last couple minutes. But whatever.

Still want him gone though.

Last time Jazz beat OKC I thought Marvin Williams did a decent job against Durant.

You'd think he would have registered at least one minute last night.

I agree here.

If Marvin and Burks had played last night, I sincerely believe the game would've been much closer.

Hayward just couldn't guard Durrant, anf we had hardly anyway to get to the free throw line without Burks.

I believe marvin was out with the flu

Does anyone else think its awesome that the mediocre Jazz fighting for their lives almost beat the top seeded OKC team fighting for the first spot while the star studded Lakers team almost got beat by a lotto team with 3 of thief starters injured?

No.
