Sounds like some fun, I think. I figured I'd start an Association with the Jazz, as to where we were currently about 5-6 games ago. Simulated the rest Corbin era (2012-2013) season, which led to the Jazz going .500 and still making the playoffs. We beat the Spurs 4-3 in the first round (and yes I simulated 6 of the 7 games and lost to the Nuggets 4-2 in the semi's.

2013 Offseason:

Corbin still got fired. Hired some generated coach that was better.
Layden got fired. Hired a generated assistant that was better.

I downloaded a rookie pack, and somehow Burke and Marcus Smart dropped to 16th on the board, drafted Smart, and some guy I traded in the beginning of the season for Shengalia for the Nets.

Signed CP3 to a max deal.
Signed Ronnie Brewer to a cheap deal.
Signed Dejauan Johnson to a cheap deal.
Signed Jefferson to a semi-good 5 year deal.

Lineup going into 2013-2014 is:

Paul/Smart
Burks/Smart
Hayward/Brewer/Williams/Shengalia
Favors/Johnson/Evans
Jefferson/Kanter

Record as of now is 17-6. Kanter only jumped to a 71 on his rating, so it gave me no choice to sign the Jefferdad.

I've always found it no fun to play with the Jazz. More fun to take the bobcats, kings, wizards etc and try to make them a good team.

You sick *******.

I traded mo williams and jeffy for lillard.... then turned off fatigue setting and play lillard burks hayward favors and kanter 40 minutes per game.
I'm in the second round of the playoffs right now.

First of all, I've obsessively worked on the rosters to make them suck less. Right now for the Jazz I have Millsap 79, Jefferson 76, Kanter 76, Favors 76, Hayward 76, Burks 72, Mo/Foye/Marvin 71, Carroll 70. I've worked on the whole league though to try to make it somewhat accurate.

Second of all, Mo Williams is super overpowered with shot stick timing on, so gotta turn that off.

Thirdly, Hayward got injured for the season 2 months in, and I just didn't have the motivation to keep playing as the Jazz. I like playing with fantasy draft teams these days.

Am I the only one who went into the ratings and changed Hayward's stats? It's a ****ing abomination they have guys like Austin Rivers rated higher than Hayward.

I changed all of the 4's stats... cheated like a mo fo.
Burks won the mvp for the season averaging 37 pts per game.

classic homerism.

Especially when you're playing the game on All Star, Rivers makes the most B.S plays happen.

And Hayward is garbage on that game. Don't know why, but they still have the Jazz in a nutshell when it comes to playing them in Association (.500 record, only thing I disagree with is they always sign Al to an extension).

classic homerism.

If it makes you feel any better (or worse), I don't just alter stats willy-nilly. I apply basically the same process to the entire league

I alter close/short/mid/long by these stats. Layup/Dunk/ShootinTraffic/ShootoffDribble are based on eyetest and being smart about %'s (udonis haslem doesn't have a great shoot off dribble because he has a good midrange jumper, but Chris Paul does, for obvious reasons).

Use opp. PER, +/-, (I just use 82games.com for that) and eye test for a guide for defensive. Obviously the defensive numbers are more reliant on subjective opinion. And yes, I have Big Al as one of the worst defensive players in the league. Am I wrong? I don't think so.

I also want to point out that with these stats, the Jazz are still just the 19th best team in the league. So I actually seem to have underrated them based on their performance this season. Homerism indeed.

I think right now that the only issue with my ratings is that Favors is rated a bit too high defensively. His opp. PER and on/off aren't that good, probably should lower him defensively a bit.

If Kanter/Burks/Favors are 76, and everything else you said you followed, your Off and Def awareness ratings are pretty off. Try using OFF rating and DEF rating on https://www.basketball-reference.com to set a general basis for those.

Fresh Prince, I liked your other Avatar more. It was pretty sick.

On My Player mode, I play for the Jazz as a small forward in my third season. We're having a good season at the moment, with a record of 58-1. I'm averaging 48 PTS on 76 FG%, in addition to 12 RBS, 8 AST, 2.5 BLK, 3.5 STL in 45 MPG.

I don't understand why we can't do the same thing in real life. :(

Maybe it's because you haven't bothered to try out for the Jazz.
