Not really. Missing Kobe will be huge but they have Dwight Howard. I know a lot of people around here think he sucks, but the fact is he doesn't suck. He is a bad *** dude that you can build around and win. This year was just an adjustment for him playing with Kobe. Dwight Howard on any team in the league is competing for the playoffs.

Yes, you can build around Dwight, but isn't Kobe under contract for a couple more seasons? Do the Lakers get his entire salry wiped off their books or just a portion if he can't come back? Would they dare amnesty him - is that still an option under the CBA?
