What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

We gave 3 guys who shoot over 40% from deep. 3 of 4 of our rotation big men can hit midrange jump shots. The Jazz can shoot. Rondo would work on this team.

Hayward really came on, which surprised me. Burks is a spot shooter IMO, he should only shoot when he's open, which he does, but I still don't view him as a consistent threat. Kanter can make jumpers. Millsap and Jefferson may or may not be here next year. Maybe it's just me, but I just don't think we're that good of a jump shooting team. I suppose it's possible I can be wrong, but quit making me look bad in front of the peasants.

Holy ****, Smart is staying?

Well I guess that is good for next year if we actually do the whole tanking thing.

Maybe we are a bad jump shooting team because we don't have a good PG setting up shots?

LOL.. too late!!!

Sick to my stomach... terrible advice to the young man.. TERRIBLE. I mean I'm really sick for him.

Well apparently Tom Izzo's speech really touched him? I've never rated Izzo very highly.. what's your take?

Tom Izzo mentioned how much Trey Burke improved in Soph year at USBWA dinner Monday and Marcus Smart was all ears. Wonder if it had impact?

Marcus Smart will probably be late-lottery next year honestly. He should have struck while the iron was hot. It's not like Burke was a projected top-5 pick his freshman year.

Actually kind of glad to hear Smart is staying. He will most likely be a lower pick next year than he was this year, and if we actually do take a step back next year, we may have a shot at him if we are outside the super star range of the draft.

I never really liked Smart though.. so the idea that another team was going to take him, leaving the player that we prefer - is why I wanted him to declare this year.

You do make a good point though.

If he doesn't improve a LOT he will fall wayyyyyy down. A lot of the hype with him is based on measurables but if he can't cut down on TOs and improve his shot he's not going to be anything close to a top 5 pick.

As long as he makes marginal improvements I don't see him falling out of the lottery. Next year's draft is still light on PG's and I see Smart dominating next year. He has good character and I think he is known as a worker.

Which is why I'm sick over his decision. He made a multi-million dollar mistake.. fact.
