Following potential 2013 draftees

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBBLSf94MX8

1st off, I like Larkin.

2nd: He is listed as having a 7'5 standing reach on DX, that is ridiculously short. BUT, as you can tell, from the very 1st clip he throws down a 2 handed jam fairly easily and gets over the rim with time to spare. Either his standing reach isn't that short, or he has a really insane vertical.

Though I hate bringing up UK... hol-e damn..... and Wiggins will be announcing within the week (per source).

I was reading and espn article regarding wiggins. Most of the panel thought wiggins really wanted to go to ky, but would ultimately pass so he could be showcased a little more. But if he goes to ky....once in a generation type of team.

At this point I hope there is something we can trade these picks for. Really this draft blows. I thought the kanter draft was ridiculously poor, but damn. Not one single player from top to bottom excite me, not even Burke.

I wish I had the fire to argue but since the cancer and my sons death it is gone. I can't stand confrontation. but here are my opinions on what is being said...

smart going back is asinine. if you are gaurenteed a top 10 pick you come out. all it takes is 1 accident and it is all over.

Larkin vs Lawson - Larkin is quick but not as quick (fast) as Lawson but he is definitely athletic. he has a quick release so he will be able to gets his shot off at the next levelnot to mention he gets a lot of height on his jump, something Burke does not do.

as far as wolters practicing against a garbage can I believe that was a similar argument against kanter when he came out. good thing kanter sucks so bad that it makes the argument for you.

as far as this draft goes, from what jam hearing, is most gms are not going to be looking for super star but role players. team needs is going to be huge in this draft. I could also see European players move up the boards because they can be stashed over seas and see if they develop before being give gaurenteed money.

Jesus next years draft is going to be insane. Two picks next year could set up a franchise for te next 10 years.

I know. I have been thinking about how to con another team to give us their first for next year even if it is just outside the lotto. I don't have a perfect plan yet.

I hope Lindsey can work his magic on this one.

If we can see the potential for next years draft, so can the other teams. It is going to be difficult to wrestle away an extra pick from somebody.

But the Jazz have got some good trade pieces. Namely 1 yr expiring Marvin, and a bunch of Cap space for a salary dump. Don't know yet if there are any sellers on the market.

Also, Smart staying is risky. Very courageous of him. Sure he avoids the Bobcats, but he ought to ask Perry Jones and Jared Sulinger about staying an extra year. Those guys did end up on better teams than they would have, but it cost them a couple of million bucks. Maybe he will make up the difference with what the people at OK State are paying him.

I don't fault Smart for trying to avoid the Bobcats, but if he gets drafted in the teens next year he doesn't know if that is a team on the way up, or on the way down. Risky.

Does this make Burke a top 5 pick?

Also I see that the ESPN board has Alex Len at #8 and CJ MCollum to the Jazz at 14. I am predicting that these two players both rise up the board. Len in the top 5, CJ top 8. Sorry Jazz fans, I hope you like Mitch McGary, does anyone know if he played football?

I think it could. No players really have an 'it' factor.. Burke is as good as any not named Noel, imo. (And I'm not super high on Noel, either)

Following Trey Burke's rise this season has probably been one of the most painful things I have ever endured as a Jazzfan. I remember being stoked that he didn't enter last year, because we didn't have a pick-- and hoping that we could snag him with the GS pick presuming GS missed the playoffs.

Nope. GS makes the playoffs, Jazz are saddled in no-where's land draft-wise, and Burke is fresh off of a ridiculous March campaign.

He was probably going top 5 before Smart exited, and now it is all but confirmed.

*puts gun to head*

I think there's a lot of quality point guards out there. If not this year then next. The Jazz will be fine.

There's been drought. Next year will be better.. and early indications are 2015 will be sparse as well. Right now onky Mudiay and Jones look elite. Wings are very sparse in '15 as well.
