Following potential 2013 draftees

Speaking of Miami players, Durand Scott is a nice little 2nd round option. Great defender, pretty decent size and he can make an open jumper.

It's possible, but I watched damn near every single game they had.

Don't get me wrong, I love Larkin. I think he's a great college PG. To be a 5'11 PG in the NBA though...you gotta be special.

Look at Ty Lawson. Ty Lawson was freaking incredible, and I loved watching him play. Quite possibly one of the quickest guards I've seen play in a while, aka, Larkin ain't got **** on his quicks. I mean, Lawson >>> Larkin. Even Lawson got drafted in the middle/lower half of the draft. It took Lawson a while to adjust to the NBA.

Now I know that if you look at just his percentages, Larkin looks like a good shooter. He's just alright in my opinion though. Put anybody with some length on him, and he's gonna struggle. He won't be able to finish at the rim in the NBA. He's not a distributor. Simply put...he's a backup PG in the NBA.

I don't look at his percentages, just watching the games he is hitting NBA 3's over bigger guards pretty much every game. Honestly, I haven't watched much of Lawson, I know he has been tearing it up though. But to say Larkin doesn't have **** on Lawson's quicks is just plain out silly. Yes, I do realize he is only 5'11 and probably about 165 lbs, but the dude can flat out play.

Really turned it on during the ACC Tournament, ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Not a bad option in the second round, but honestly can't really see him getting drafted for any other reason then as a defender who can knock down a three now and then.

Actually, for you to say that me saying Larkin isn't nearly as quick as Lawson, when you admit that you don't even watch Lawson, is ridiculous.

I get it, you like Larkin, I do too. The fact remains though, he's not an NBA starting PG. If you watched his games and studied his play, then you hopefully noticed how often he missed a wide open player rolling after he got a screen. You hopefully noticed how the majority of his assists came from fast break opportunities. You hopefully noticed how Illinois **** all over him when he tried to defend their backcourt.

He's a very good college player. Doesn't make him a good NBA player. He's basically Dee Brown.

Hantlers is such a damn good poster. I'm glad to have him back.. kinda

Is the kinda because I'm the only other than Cy who will openly disagree with you?

You've gotten a bunch of knob slobbers over here since I left.

Those guys tend to play a fairly valuable role off of the bench. I mean, Raja Bell, Tony Allen (and he can't even shoot), Bruce Bowen, DeMarre Carroll. Anybody who can play good defense and knock down an open three can play in the NBA.

Actually it isn't because, obviously since you have seen Larkin play you have noticed that he is quick as hell and probably one of the fastest in the NCAA. There is no way Lawson is way faster than him, I guarantee that. Larkin is fast enough for me not to watch Lawson and know that he isn't way faster than Larkin is.

I don't know if he can consisitently knock down a three at the NBA level though. Hopefully he gets drafted, but I don't think he will. Scott will get a summer league tryout and show how good of a defender he is, probably about it.

Was Hantlers the guy you pleaded the Mods to bring back from the "banned bin" ?

I can see why, he's adding a lot of substance to this board with just the right amount of heat. Enough to be spicy, but not enough to burn your tongue.

I'm liking this so far.

You know he ain't got no chance. Kid's got moxie though, I'll give him that.

At least he backs up his opinion with some fire, unlike nikkkk.

Why?

Haha, son, Lawson is faster than Larkin. That is fact. Take it from somebody who watches a lot of college basketball.

Anyways, the point I was trying to make is that Lawson had that elite speed, along with being a good distributor and a decent shot that made up for his size. He was a far better college player than Larkin ever was.

Now I'm going to ask you this...what skills do you see from Larkin that make you think he can be a starting PG in the NBA?

Haven't looked too much into the draft, but the little I looked into McCollum makes me immediately think Randy Foye. Am I wrong in this?

Its certainly possible. I'm thinking he can be a real PG.. but there's just not a lot of definite talent where we'll be selecting... we'll need a little luck.

Lawson is elite level NBA fast, I doubt Larkin is. Either way it doesn't matter because Lawson is exponentially better than Larkin ever will be.

Lawson isn't tall but he is really strong. That is really important to maintain his speed advantage when he gets bumped.
