I would never think that you comdemned anything non-fictional.
A) Do you have numbers showing no damage so far?
B) Maybe as the case gets more attention, there would be more damage
C) You never know what can happen in court
For being such a smart guy, you sure seem to miss the obvious sometimes. Did you really think I wasn't aware that white people think suing for racism is some sort of lottery with jackpots at the end? You don't really think it's that simple, do you?
Plus juries can be unpredictable.
They should pay something because that is just how things work. IMO, something that would make up for it would something along the lines of 10K, or something like that. A relatively small monetary value that shows they are sorry.

The comment, and it's implications, stands on it's own, regardless of Cyrone Torbin's intents, feelings, or wishes. Intent is not magic, it doesn't change the meaning of words. Again, you haven't even tried to pretend the comment itself is defensible.
I really wish you could understand what I actually am saying about these things. I have never, not once, said that those white males were more racist or more sexist than a non-white or a female. I have specifically said otherwise, in fact. I have also said that the difference was how much they benefited from racism and sexism, not that they possessed it.
Of course you can. I would not be surprised if, regardless of facts, you attrributed any settlement to b e for the purposes of PR.

From the companies perspective I would assume it is PR oriented. From the woman's perspective I assume it would be considered justice.

She was insulted using a racial slur. That's bad. It's wrong. So, they may give her money even though her case may not be strong enough to win in court.
There is no such thing as bad publicity, with very few exceptions. The fact that 99% of the United States (there is always that idiot 1%) who think that this is a joke, a waste of people's time, money and effort means that on some sort of level, the public has sympathy for CVS. Sympathy = Money. CVS would be spending one hundred times the money to have this kind of coverage on their store. Deep down, I bet the CEO of CVS has a woody blue veiner about all of this.
Do these types of cases actually go to a trial of some kind? I know that in smaller claims court, the judge has the final say.
