Following potential 2014 draftees

So with the guys from this years draft like Marcus smart staying another year, how many sure fire good picks does that make for next year? At least like 7 right?

Sure fire for the most part in my opinion:
Wiggins
Parker
Randle
Harrison (Andrew)
Smart
Gordon
Vonleh

Young, Harrison (Aaron), Cauley-Stein, Hill, McGary, Robinson III, etc. are the other guys.

US team measurements. Looks like Vonleh has grew some. Hill and Randle had slightly disappointing measurements. Randle's reach and wingspan are on the low end for NBA power forwards, about the same as Millsaps.

Demetrius Jackson

Rondae Jefferson

Height*: 6-6.5
Weight: 212

Wingspan: 7’1

Jabari Parker

Parker still needs to lose some of the weight he gained from his injury. Should be playing at about 230 IMO.

Agree.. and he will.. I think he has the best freshman year.

I hope he does. He has looked better in the last two games that I have watched him then any other time that I have watched him live. If he could get slightly quicker while still keeping his strength he will be a keeper for a long time.

What I have said about Parker for years is that he will come in and make a huge splash.. because he was years ahead of his peers and incredibly polished. I also cautioned that that may be somewhat fools gold because the other kids will catch up and then he'll he a very good player but not the once-in-a-decade player SI (for example) was hyping him to be.

That is still my basic take.. but I now feel I may have sold him a little short. I like his game far more than I thought I would.

I wouldn't label him as a once in a decade player but he could have an impact in the NBA next year if he was playing there.

He does.. and more mobile.

Needs a lot of added strength but seems to be able to put it on.

The question is if Vonleh is available when the Jazz draft do you take him even though they have Favor and Kanter or do the Jazz try and get either a PG or wing?

Better question, if Hill and Vonleh are both on the board when the Jazz draft who should they take?

If the team roster is as it is now.. Hill. But there's a lot of cbb to played/scouted and we get to see a little bu t, at least, shake up with our roster.

I just wish there was a way to add another pick in the teens for next year. I don't see how it's possible unless the Jazz trade a member of the C4. I don't think Burks gets you back into the teens next year unless he has a massive breakthrough type year.

Cap space may get us two picks in the 20s. We may be able to package those for a pick in the teens.

You wanted a scenario.... here's one.
