Following potential 2013 draftees

Anyone interested in Erick Green from Virginia Tech? He's a PG/SG ala McCollum: 25 ppg, 3.8 assists, 38.9% from 3's.

May be a 2nd round pick for us, if we decided to go BPA with our 1st round picks or missed out on a PG?

Looks like a very good change-of-pace guard off the bench, basically a 3rd or 4th guard. He seems to have some of the same strengths and weaknesses as Schroeder.

He also seems to have outplayed Marcus Smart when they matched up this year, scoring 28 pts. on 6/10 shooting and a bunch of free-throws.

Schroeder with #14, Greek Freak with #21, Green with 2nd roung pick.

That would really boost our back court talent.

Ok, may be it was a stretch to get Green with our 2nd. DX had him at #31.

How about if we get McCollum/Schroeder @ #14 to play PG and Green @ #21 to play back up PG/SG?

Is that too much of a stretch? Or do you guys prefer Saric/Karasev @ #21?

(this is assuming Greek Freak is gone between #14 - #21)

Green intrigues me but he's rather down on the list for me in relation to Adetekundo, Schroeder, McCollum, Olynyk, and Austin.

I think the rule is to always maximize each pick rather than planning around a combination of players at 2 different picks. At #14, if McCollum, Austin and Adetokunbo are there, you take the one you think the most highly of regardless of who might or might not be there are #21 (e.g., Schroeder, Green, etc.). For example, in 2010 Cleveland could have thought--"Hey, we could get an 'elite' wing and still get an 'elite' PG with our first-round picks if we took Derrick Williams and Brandon Knight at #1 and #4 instead of Kyrie Irving at #1 and whatever is available at #4..." Obviously, that would have been a royal mistake.

So normally you make every pick like it's your only pick, and maximize its value.

Just a friendly reminder from Captain Obvious.

Karasev, Green or Goodwin might be there at #21.
