Hollinger breaks down Jazz roster

They're offering a 2 month trial subscription today. I thought about it, but not thinking it's worth it.

Highlights: Williams is good, but he's no Chris Paul. Jefferson is devestating down low and if he goes baseline but he can't defend. CJ is soft and fouls too much. AK gets hurt too much. Raja was hurt. Honzward is Mike Dunleavy light. Millsap is undersized. Price and Watson suck. Elson is a hack. Fesenko had more turnovers than baskets in the playoffs and was awful. Evans is athletic and hustles and might be Wesley Matthews 2010-11.

Since I can post one paragraph, I'll post my favorite:

For Williams to take the next step up, he has to shoot more consistently. Last season he hit 37.1 percent of his 3s, 80.1 percent of his free throws, and 43.8 percent of his long 2s. Those are very good numbers for mere mortals, but to move Williams more seriously into the best point guard conversation, they need to be more like 41-85-47.

Good thing he's not really in the conversation.

Is this Hollinger's analysis or YB's?

A summary of Hollinger's. Mine would have been Deron > God.

Well, God has talent, but his ego issues really make him seem like a headcase. If he could drop all of this "you must worship me!" and "I shall smite you" BS, he could develop into a really good player.

LOL Thou shalt not impede thine movement unto the hoop as thou shall be smitten and left in the key as unto a burning pillar of salt!!

Judging from how you channeled that writing voice it appears that you've read at least part of one book. I've been wondering....

Made me chuckle quiet a bit (not so good when you are sitting face to face with your manager)

Excellent. This YB-produced version of Hollinger's analysis potentially underrates every jazz player mentioned.
