Following potential 2013 draftees

Karasev is a good pick at 21. That's about where he should go. If Goodwin, Dieng or Caldwell-Pope were available though, I think I'd take one of them ahead of Karasev.

"@AlexKennedyNBA: Yesterday, I was at IMG looking at some of the 2013 NBA Draft prospects. I'll be tweeting out videos soon, but here are some observations."

"@AlexKennedyNBA: I was very impressed with @NateWolters. He's the real deal. Terrific shooter and extremely hard worker. Lives in the gym. Coaches love him."

"@AlexKennedyNBA: Adonis Thomas (@AllDayThomas) has a ton of potential. He has improved his shot and changed his body. His game will translate well to NBA."

"@AlexKennedyNBA: BJ Young (@bjyoung_money11) is crazy athletic. He put on a dunk show. Great length and quickness. Teams will love his swagger/confidence."

Nothing surprising there, but some good reading.. thanks gello.

I've been mentioning Adonis as people selling him short. He just went to a school with a first year coach and didn't get what he needed to show well.

I'd still take Karasev over all three.

Caldwell-Pope is definitely a better prospect than Karasev. I'd argue he's borderline lottery pick this year seeing how thin the talent is there. He can stroke the 3pt the same way Karasev can, but he's much more athletic.

Goodwin, Deng and Karasev to me are at a similar level. So if they're all available at #21 I think teams would just pick whoever they need, be it shooting, big man, or a slasher.

Sounds like Alex Kennedy is prepping to become an agent.

Exciting time for the Jazz's scouting brain-trust though. Will have to figure out if there's any one of a quite varied cast of potential PGs, all of whom seem to have some major flaws, who they think can turn into at least a solid starter in the league. And if there is that guy (and there may not be that guy) -- how to get him? The likelihood of finding that guy at 14 and beyond is not high (though it certainly is better than a longshot).

He really intrigues me.

Interesting take.

It's intriguing to me how there are 30 teams in the NBA, and with all the players in the world available to choose from, Jazz can't fine a solid young & reliable starting PG.

If I someday got married to a girl with good athletic genes/pedigree, I'd teach my boy to play the PG position.

I actually think Wolters will go early 2nd.

Probably. I currently have him going third in the second to Cleveland. Rockets could also take him with the fourth pick and if the Thunder don't get a PG in the first round, (I currently have them snagging MCW) they could take him with the second pick.

Other than Kabongo, I don't really feel there's a better PG prospect than Wolters in the second round.
