Following potential 2013 draftees

i have a few concerns about schoder.

DX has some videos of the world team practice and as far as shooting with dennis i am worried.

1- when he gets the ball he brings it down to his knees before going for the shot. It takes time and makes his shot easier to block
2- He shoots from his forehead. This is a low release point. again making it easier to contest his shot.
3- He doesnt get a lot of lift on his shot. He shoots almost flat footed. again getting his shot off will be a problem

These to things tell me that he is going to have a hard time shooting in the NBA. Now these can be fixed but when you start to tinker with a guys shot it could all go to hell

Brandon Knight.
Damian Lillard.

Those are far from perfect mechanics, but I think you're too harsh in every one of your judgments.

He's no Curry but that is not what you need from him. You want speed (check), athleticism (check), length (check), defense (check), ball handling (not elite but with his speed it is enough, check), distribution (check) and you would like him to hit the open three when needed (check).

I'm not concerned about it at all really.

Beaubois was drafted purely on measurements and athleticism. He played in the French league, and was a great "risk" @ 25th pick. His season was derailed via hand surgery this year. Seems superficially similar to Schröder, but I think Schröders penetration game, and speed is far-superior. Hence, hell be getting drafted 10 spots lower-- and maybe even in the lottery.

As far as I know, Dallas is still hopeful with him. For whatever reason, Beaubois ****S on the Jazz consistently.

The reason had to do with the Jazz playing Tinsley and Watson.

Schroeder positions the ball well in his hand and has a pretty good release. He has good lift when his feet are under him and he's balanced. He doesn't look like a guy who will shoot well off balance--he needs to plant both feet. But he'll be an adequate shooter. His game is based on quickness, so defenders will probably give him space to shoot.

He isn't like McCollum though who can shoot all over the floor with his momentum going either way.

Erick Green out of Virginia Tech. Leading scorer in the nation on a Hokies team that he had little to any help on. His role was to be a scorer. A 6'3 point guard, who even without help dished 4 assists per game.

I'd say that he is worth a very good look, might be a big sleeper pick in this draft. Projected on Hoopshype to go 25.

to be honest I am trying to temper my love for this draft. if we dont get Burke, McCollum or schöder I do t want to have an aneurism. not to excited about McW but wouldn't cry if we got him. I wnt karasev with 21st so bad.

Jimmer did the same thing.

The NBA draft and the anticipation leading up to the NBA draft is one my favorite things about being a Jazzfan, especially when we are in the lottery. I don;t care who we draft, as long as the players we draft are impact players and fit a role/need for the team. I know that is making it overly simple, but we really just need to add pieces like OKC did when they drafted guys like Green and Serge (of course, serge has over accomplished).

I really want Jackie Carmichael in the second.

draft schröder, karasev and Carmichael. then bring over tomic.

The Future is bright! I can feel it. 2-3 years from now, we'll take the league by storm, or atleast we can hope so. If KAnter is special, than i think we will. Heck, maybe even next year it will happen.

Can we just skip next year and get the highest odds for the lotto?
