What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

pics or it didn't happen

sadly i have this damn scoresheet printed out, looking me right in the face, i actually never have bowled over a 267, i used this new ball and threw my first 11 shots perfect strikes, the last looked good but the 10 pin stood (im lefty) noooooooo im so pissed off lol at least blade was on.

If Schroeder, McCollum, MCW are off the board I wouldn't be surprised if Jazz changed their tact and went with "Best Shooting Guard Available" strategy.

I think we can very well ended up with Kantavious Caldwell-Pope or Jamaal Franklin to fill our hole at the starting SG position (Burks comes off the bench as our 6th man the way Hayward did last season). Both Kantavious and Jamaal has legit 3pt range and can shoot it consistently which is a perfect fit for our front court. Both are also very athletic and seems to be decent defenders.

Then we'll pick a 3rd tier PG at #21... & hope we can pick a decent PG in '14 draft.

I'd be surprised if that was our strategy. Too lazy to expound.

FWIW, I'd say we'll snag a PG if there's one there we like.. otherwise, BPA.... I don't see SG being, in any way, a position of need to the point of trumping BPA.

Well what do you think? Lindsey was part of that SA team that drafted Kawhi Leonard who is athletic, solid defenders, can knock down the 3pt. Bruce Bowen type players. I think Kantavious fits the bill perfectly (albeit at the SG position, not the SF where we already have Hayward).

I really don't think we can rely on Foye starting anymore. Burks game isn't suited to playing with Favors/Kanter, he's more of an attacker, drawing fouls in the 6th man role. We need someone who can hit that 3pt consistently with Favors/Kanter starting next season (Jamaal shoots 37% 3pt last season).

Well Caldwell-Pope could very well be BPA if Schroeder (Dallas) and Olynyc (OKC) are gone.

Making him the perfect pick, filling our need as well as being the BPA. (DX has him at #15)

KCP is not the defender of that caliber, hes a hell of an offensive player, and he has quick hands for steals on d, but will struggle guarding 2's at first, hes no lockdown guy, he can shoot the rock though, and get his shot off, quite well, I still cannot decide if i prefer him or Archie

No I he's not that great a defender yet. Although the DX scouting video said he has potential. I don't think we're looking for a lockdown guy (look at how we tolerated Foye). We don't even need someone attacking the basket IMO (with Favors & Kanter there just won't be enough space).

We just need someone who could stand there and just knock it down from 3's. Create spacing for Favors & Kanter to operate. Imagine a Klay Thompson type player in our starting lineup. SA has Green and Leonard who did that all series. They were able to pull away from GSW at times because they made those shots.

U changed your story, kkk.. and responded strangely.

First u said if we don't go PG you could see us going SG... I simply disagreed that we would more likely take BPA.. I never said that couldn't be a SG. Of course the Jazz could see one of those guys as BPA.. and pick them... but it won't be because they're a SG and Burks needs to come off the bench.

Reading comprehension. Practice it.

LOL.. yeah may be, let's just say I realized half way through that Caldwell-Pope could be the common solution to our problems.

I want a SG. You want BPA. Win-Win!

Seriously though.. if Caldwell-Pope could turn out to be a reliable 3pt shooter for us, and a half way decent defender I'd take it from this crabby draft.

I know you're bored out of your mind with this draft PKM...

... but if you look at the Spurs team. The most boring, but effective team in the NBA. OK they have Duncan, they have Parker. But it's really Green & Leonard that's carrying the team right now. Without them knocking down those 3's and playing solid defense and hustling, I think that team would have struggled against GSW. Parker isn't shooting 3's anymore and Duncan is really not providing any offensive punch other than an occasional 12 footer.

Okay, fine. Get me Pops to replace Ty and I'll be more excited about this draft.
