Ronnie Brewer Resents Utah Didn't Try to Bring Him Back

WELL WE DEAL WITH YOU AND YOUR LIMITATIONS.. So do you want a nba player that doesnt think he is good. Whats in the water in utah that makes people stupid
Everything OK psychologically, NCJ? Looks like Lance-A-Million was arguing against bringing him back too.

Did someone try to grab your cell phone to see if you were making cheating calls (rofl)?

Forget replacements, forget Wes. We traded Brewer at the deadline for a first round draft pick. We then could have picked him up again after the season ended.

We traded ~40 games of Ronnie Brewer for a first round draft pick. The trade, in hindsight, was absolutely brilliant.

I was the #1 guy slamming KOC for the trade. A playoff team does not trade good depth for nothing. And make no mistake, it probably cost the Jazz a game or two. AK went down and Sloan was forced to give Jeffers significant playing time.

But what none of us knew at the time is that KOC was already working with Kahn on getting Al Jefferson. It's highly likely Kahn wanted a 1st-rounder. And KOC held ground on NOT giving up the lottery pick. So trading Brewer to get the Memphis pick, which then enabled O'Connor to complete the deal for Jefferson WAS brilliant. It's the behind the scene negotiations that we're never privy to. For example, we have no idea what KOC offered to Brewer and his agent last summer. What we do know is that they were SO far apart that negotiations just ceased. There was no hope of reaching a deal before the deadline. And, had Utah passed on Bell this summer, Thomas probably would have continued to demand a high contract for Brewer as the Jazz' options would have been limited. After Bell signed with the Jazz, Brewer was forceed to accept whatever deal he could get.

Brewer the slasher, that's one thing. But the Brewer that thinks he's a jump shooter or 3pt shooter... not good. And listen to his comments about how much he should make - inflated self worth, the dude thinks he is better then he is and can hurt the team by playing like he's a star or even like starter qualilty.

PS **** you

Thanks Root, we dont have that pick anymore. True there was a chance we would have only gotten cash out of it, but Minnesota thought it was good enough. It was used to get Big Al. Are you really going to complain about that? Paul Allen has endless pockets and overpaid for Wes, the Millers do not.

This is an excellent point considering there isn't this CBA thingy to worry about. Paul Allen can turn those deep pockets inside out if he wanna. It's a great strategy to overpay in the NBA. Let's just call him Paul Allen Steinbrenner, cause he can do exactly what the horse racer can in MLB.

.

Your making a mistake. That trade helped not hurt. We won games we would not have if Brewer had still been the starter over Mathews. Another thing when did Jeffers get significant playing time?

I'm saving a cup of **** sweat to offer Brewer next time Chicago comes to town. If I was a fan at all I'm about as anti-brewer as I am anti-kobe after this cry session. The Jazz made Brewer. The only redeeming feature of Brewer's game is he figured out how to get open under the basket and dunk. D sux. Shooting absent. Can't dribble a lick. Here he is pissing on the team that made him look good because they worked him, built him up, and convinced him to buy into the Utah system. He was nothing without the system. He'da D Brown'd it if it wasn't for Utah.

This bobbagadouch otto be calling Utah and thanking them for his whatever-the-hell-it-is Chicago contract. He's umpteen million richer thanks to Utah. Brewer sux.

Geesh, that's harsh. Brew was just lamenting that things didn't work out for him to come back. And you're overhating on his dribbling, too; he was a point guard in college, and I'm not sure why Sloan didn't try him more as the Kirilenko-like last-resort point guard. It's not like, even with a bum elbow, he would shoot worse than Price on most nights . . .

Are you kidding? Watch ANY game where Brewer had to catch the ball at mid-court or so and dribble. He freezes up and looks lost. I don't care what role he played in college. He can't dribble. What point guard dribbles the ball past his shoulders, or bounces it 12 feet out in front of him if running? Post up a single video of Brewer dribbling with skill.

I don't care enough to look for one. But anyone wants to post a clip of him dribbling much at all, that would be great. I remember Brew more for slashing the baseline--which is more about lulling the defense to sleep--and only occasionally missing jumpers. I don't recall him dribbling much at all.

Brewer was a poor ballhandler. Very sloppy. The guy can find seems in the defense to get easy baskets, make a pretty pass, and get steals in the passing lanes. There is nothing good about his game beyond that. Frankly, I think the Bulls overpaid.

Getting a #1 for Brewer was, in my mind, a brilliant maneuver by KoC. As has been noted, that #1 was used as an additional asset to get us Big Al. I liked us drafting Brewer, but he seemed to be maxed out here; wasn't getting any better. As far as re-signing him after Memphis turned him loose... I think Jeffers may actually have more upside; unlike Brewer, he does seem to be improving his game. The Jazz certainly weren't about to offer Brewer the big contract he was after which led to his trade in the first place...
