I could address all the other arguments that I think are faulty in this thread (e.g., atheism at fault for mass murder--this is one of the biggest red herrings), the pass given to the widespread nature of Christian bigotry, oppression, and violence, that moderate Muslims are not speaking out (they do but you're not likely to hear about it from Fox news) and so forth.

Yeah, like I've ever seen a ****ing minute of Fox News in my life.

Does every media organization in the world hate Muslims? Or do they just not speak out enough to make their voice heard? Are free demonstrations allowed in Turkey? If so, how does a place with so many honor killings not have a rally with thousands demanding that the government do something about it. In fairness I did find one article where women did march to protest the killings a couple years ago. I commend their bravery.

That being said, a few hundred people in a city of 13 million isn't exactly the public outrage that's impressive to me. 2,000 in Ankara is a little better. Kudos to the protestors, shame on the rest where that couldn't swell into something large.

And this is one of the more liberal/moderate Islamic societies, a place I'd expect protests at stuff like this to happen. Why does it never happen in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. And I'm not talking about a handful of women, I'm talking about thousands of regular citizens. Is it because the general populace is ok with it, or is it because their crappy oppressive governments will arrest/kill them for protesting.

Atheists are quick to point out when an atheist charity raises money, when a less religious country like Sweden or Norway is successful and they indirectly imply or often even directly state that them lacking religion has helped them. Whenever something is done good by atheists atheism gets credit. When atheists have done bad (and boy some of them really have) atheists quickly shout and insist you cannot blame atheism for their actions. If Islam has to take the blame for Osama, atheism has to take the blame for Pol Pot, Stalin etc.

What author of article means is, that even with most optimistic data number of muslims in Japan including foreign muslims who are non residents on temporary work permits is less then 0.1% of whole population. And Japan's strict immigration laws are not allowing massive muslim immigration like for example lax laws of Sweden or Switzerland. Compare that to 5% or more in some European countries and maybe even brainwashed numbnut like you will get the point.
It is ok to have 0.1% muslims in your country. When it reaches +5% it becomes a problem and threat to it.

You really want me to start linking you videos of Muslims condemning terrorists? Countless organizations invited news and media organizations to display what they have said, they don't get picked up. Muslim terrorism is around but the media has done an excellent job linking terrorism to Islam and Muslims condemning them is not newsworthy. I've already linked statistics from FBI data that Muslim terrorism has been a small fraction of terrorism.

In regards to stopping the terrorism I think education and economic growth would do the best in stopping the terrorism. As PW pointed out, young poor people with no power can do crazy things. For example 57% of men and 86% of women in Afghanistan are illiterate. These take resources that I individually don't have. Its a shame that the ones with the resources (the royalty) are the ones that are corrupt.

Whenever I blame poor literacy/lack of education a common example that is brought up is the september 11 hijackers. Most of the 19 hijackers were college educated and some even had phd's. Osama Bin Laden himself was a well educated engineer. For the terrorists like these they are the minority of the terrorist organizations.

Then one of the solution could be sending "Muslim Missionaries" into these countries and help them to re-interpret the Koran. The Qur'an says to defend yourself against attackers. Muslim terrorists believe that they are getting attacked by Americans and other foreign countries. Their interpretation of the Qur'an isn't the problem, the problem is they believe they are getting attacked. If it was easy to fix Muslims would have fixed it by now. This is just one of those things that will take time and probably won't be fixed within our lifetimes.

You want to believe what is favorable for you. That Europol data is completely biased and has no info on muslims terrorists in Africa, Russia, Asia, Middle East and everywhere else but USA and western Europe. Author of this article even goes as far as saying that muslim terrorist attacks results in zero death in Europe which is such an obviously balatant lie. Madrid train bombing alone resulted in more death then all other non muslim terror attacks in Europe.


See this list... how many of these attacks happened in USA and Western Europe? Small amount. Does it make islam any better? Show me any other religion responsible for so many death every month. And I am even missing 10 buddhists killed by Myanmar muslims few days ago on this list.
