Bazz and Schroeder drop in new NBADraft.net mock

nbadraft.net is still much better than draftexpress.
I'll assume that was a troll attempt.
So I guess the question is, why isn't he a top pick anymore? Is it all because of his dad? Or was he exposed even in a crappy basketball conference as being a "meh" player? Perhaps there are concerns about his size and athleticism and if it will translate at the next level? I personally really don't like his physical profile

I have a feeling that if this kid had played at duke or BYU a lot of folks here would be questioning his physical profile a lot more. But because he played at a university known for athletic basketball players and was highly touted coming out of high school, we are giving him a pass.

A 6 foot 5-6 small forward with avg athleticism. Someone help explain to me why he's a better prospect than German tony Parker. Someone explain to me why bazz is so great.

I'm not being a hater. I just want the jazz to take the bpa. I can't stand watching some of these playoff teams knowing that guys like ibaka, Parker, and now George should have been ours. while we are stuck with alfense and bench clippers guards. sigh

Take the damn bpa and move on!

Let me ask a sincere question.

Do you recognize that you twist conversations with hyperbole, absolutes, and straw man arguments?

Anyway.. I've scouted players for 20+ years and have been watching 'Bazz for 4 years now.
I'm not saying he's an all-star.. but you do realize the chasm between all-star and he sucks/don't touch him with a 10 foot pole, right?

So, with that out of the way.. his strengths (since everyone here has discussed weaknesses ad nauseum..);

- 20ppg type scorer
- disrupts the defense
- major motor and work ethic

I HATED it when he announced to play for Howland and hid plow-horse offense. I predicted, right then, that he'd drop from #1 to 3 - 5.
Though there's no way to know, I guess if he had chosen either UK or Duke (his other two finalists) that he would have been better used yo his strengths and would be sitting at #1.

Bootom line is the hating on shabazz here is much greater than the love he's getting.. not sure why there has to be a total divide between greatness and suckitude.

I don't think I have ever stated that he sucked. If you find it then please quote it here so I can apologize for it. Maybe you're mistaking what I said about his conference? That of which, ill fight you on. The conference of champions sucks at basketball.

The issue here is bpa for the NBA. My view is that there are other (better) NBA prospects that should be available at 14. Like I said before, I am not impressed by Bazz.

If you say he has a high motor and such, then maybe. And his shot is nice. But his size and athleticism still have yet to be considered in any of your posts.

So give him a look. I'd just to hear more about the other guys. The nba is a league of tall, long, and incredibly athletic players. I don't se that from bazz.

Let's just wait and see. It's difficult trying to quickly define something you've watched for years to someone who hasn't.

I am a big Duke fan, but I do not want Mason Plumlee. At best, he will be Anderson Varejo and at worst Ben Handlogten. Only reason Dennis Schroeder dropped to 16 is that the Celtics were probably the team that made him a promise.

I'm not sure I buy that as it would basically guarantee Rondo is gone. Seems odd to draft a third string PG at 16.

But a 2nd string... see how he can play.. and maybe free yourself up to command big things from a Rondo trade?

I know Bradley is a 'sg' but he's really more of a combo guard. Probably too small to play full time 2.

I can see how it could work for them, but I'm just not really buying that trading your best player who is about to enter his prime and is on a great contract is the best way to improve.

I don't disagree with any of that. Fwiw, I didn't mean trade Rondo now. I meant make SURE Schro can be your future first and, if so, youve struck gold with making Rondo tradable.

Insatiable isn't she? Glad I have some backup cause I've had a ****-ache for about a year now.

yeah 2 muslims in one team, enes kanter and shabazz muhammad, guaranteed championhip.

Shabazz Muhammad is probably nation of gods and earth and not Muslim because his first name is Shabazz. The 5 percent nation of gods and earths don't believe in a traditional god but rather that black man is god and white people were created by some scientist.

Why are you still on the Rondo bandwagon?
Celtics will demand a lot for him.
Draft picks, Favors or Kanter, and more to get salaries to match.
Why go after a guy with a max contract coming off a serious knee injury?
Rondo may be good but Jazz will have to give everything back they got for D Williams.
