I love the Core 4(sorry not you MoTown) and hope against all hope that the FO rolls them out next season and we get to see what they are made of....

But please everyone stop, who claims if the Core 4 get major minutes, meaning no Paul or Al, that they will sneak in or be in the Playoffs next year!!!

We have no bench and in this last season our bench was 5th best in the NBA and we didn't make the playoffs....


Look at what happened to Portland last year with no bench!!!

Anyone know if Blake Ahearn is available for free agency? Would love to lock him up long term.

I think you're right on that one, i mean, maybe in the east, but the west looks like it will be strong again next year.

Yup, Dallas with a healthy Dirk and whom ever they sign in free agency, and Portland could make a push if they pick up a decent big in free agency!!!
 
What if we didn't have an actual benched area for players not currently in the game to watch and rest on? What if?!?

Then the players would have to stand and the people in the rows behind them would have to stand to be able to see, and then the people behind them would have to stand, and so on and so on, leading to large parts of the crowd being on their feet for the entire game, and possibly adding to the atmosphere in the stadium.

Exactly. So our 5th best bench now becomes our starting unit and the old starters who quickly dug Utah into double-digit deficits are gone. I have no doubt our starting 5, pending the addition of a PG, will be exciting to watch and competitive against most teams. Then a weak bench will ensure Utah loses. And isn't that the whole idea of next season? Jazz aren't TANKING on purpose. They'll develop the young players, including this year's picks, and win 25-30 games. What good does it do to go out and find guys like Mo, Randy, Marvin, etc. and fight for the 8th seed or wind up with the 14th pick again? The Ronnie Brewers, Kris Humphries and Kirk Snyders aren't going to launch us into contention. Nor would another player like Alec Burks. The Jazz absolutely MUST end up in the top-10 and preferably higher.

I agree with you, Zulu. There is no way we'll even have a chance of sniffing the playoffs unless Greg changes his mind and tells Lindsey/KOC he wants a chance at the extra playoff money (i.e. re-sign Al or Paul + other FA's). I don't think that happens, though. The Jazz will save >>>> $ by going cheap on salaries vs. paying out more big contracts.

thats why i advocate keeping millsap a 3 big men rotation consisting of favors kanter sap getitng 30-33 minutes each.
and some jarron collins like scrub for garbage time.
and our big men rotation is sollid with bench.

Absolutely hell no to both of those...decent idea, but horrible people to have.

Try and bring over Tomic first. Millsap only if he accepts 6th man role.

I think there is the chance that they do. I think a team lead by the Core4 will be better than most are expecting. All this talk about being bottom feeders with the Core4 seems silly to me. I think they will finish about what they did this year.

Only if the FO goes and gets some vets to give us some type of decent bench... But srsly can we trust Ty with Vets!!

Core 4 explained it the best... Thanks I need to spread the love before I can get you again!!

There is an entire league we can sign for our bench.
