Following potential 2013 draftees

Well if I'm 100% sold on McCollum I think that's actually a very cheap price to pay.

sure but thats not why i dont do that deal.

i say no way jose because i dont want to lose the #14 pick(Schroder)...

id rather trade other assets in conjunction with #21 to move up for Shabazz(CJ)

James Southerland@46....

thats about my favorite 'realistic' draft scenario

the jazz will rue the day they trade up for CJ infront of Muhammad

if that happens and Sactown shocks the world and takes Schroder @8 to join one of my favorite rosters in the NBA, it will break my heart, i would root for that kings team so hard

hahaha, jazz should get james johnson btw, you all like david west who trains in boxing all offseason(as the story goes), james johnson trains mma and will flat out kick your ***, i think hes a great fit in utah

EDIT btw this video will also show u why Sac has 4 pg's but needs a new one, probably MCW

Alec Burks + #21 for Bazz? You sure you like that deal?

I like that deal, if we get McCollum at the point, McCollum reminds me more and more of Deron Williams playing the shooting guard in college with Dee Brown at the point. No one really thought that Deron was a true point in college either, also great pnr guy! Of course CJ has a better stroke than Deron and not nearly all the drama that came with Deron. Also looking at similar sized point guards in the NBA and college stats as CJ McCollum and not just Deron Williams, but Stephen Curry as well, so if CJ McCollum can be somewhere around those two point guards, I will plum happy.

A line up of...

McCollum
Mohammed
Hayward
Kanter
Favors

Sounds good to me

I like CJ McCollum but certainly he is closer to Ben Gordon or Eric Gordon(w/o the STR) than Steph Curry or Deron.

i like him on the jazz but with Burks playing PG and him at 2, also hed guard the PG and Burks would guard the 3, while hayward guards the SG.

^^ so i think im the only person whos really firm in that.

so if thats the plan, can we please draft cj, but like i said months ago the best comparison to CJ McCollum is

Randy Foye

and the story goes KOC loved him... right? so yeah

My daughter is getting married tomorrow and we have rehearsals, pick up tuxes, etc... today.

Because it was a UK event, all of the unsolicited conversation was about UK players.. and them in the league. I didn't get much, but did get two snippets about the Jazz..

1) There have been recent talks with Philly about trading them our #21 for their two 2nd round picks. (Apparently we were trying to get their #11 but it just didn't gain any steam.)
2) Jazz seem to have their eye on McCollum.

I asked a couple people (not from the Jazz but close to a couple Jazz scouts) whether they thought the Jazz were high in Schroeder and/or Larkin. The answers seemed very lukewarm on both. Don't know that that means a damn thing.. which is why I didn't make it a 3rd and 4th item.

The Jazz WERE represented there by at least one scout.. he was pointed out to me. I twice tried to make it over to him but he seems to have left pretty early and I was never able. No Jazz FO there.
Please let this be true. Thanks for the tidbits PKM.
OK here's another one:

Jazz's #14 and #21 for Portland's #10 and #39 and #40.

Obviously we only do this if McCollum is still there at #10. Or to guarantee us Schroeder.

Who says no?
Exactly my thoughts.

Is McCollum Ben Gordon 2.0?
CJ is longer more athletic and smooth, and more of a playmaker. He basically has a better game overall.

In CJ I see Deron with ball in hand playing with the same mentality of Curry. He uses his jumpshot as a weapon a lot like Curry does.

Someone mentioned it earlier, or in another thread, but I liked the idea. Trade #14 & #21 to Minny for #9, and then take on Marion for #13 (I assume this is possible, but not sure). Then we could shoot for a McCollum/Schroeder combo, or a Zeller/Schroeder combo. Someone also mentioned that McCollum is scheduled to workout for us in a couple weeks. Not sure if this has been verified, but if it's true, then McCollum's and Zeller's agents must know that the Jazz have the ability (or perhaps a contingently guaranteed trade) to move up.

Frankly, I'm happy if there's a player the Jazz covet and are targeting because it means they (hopefully) have a plan! That's a good thing.

"trading them our #21 for their two 2nd round picks"

ewww

I guess if we got Wolters and or Bongo it wouldn't be too bad.
I just down like the idea downgrading.

#21 for #35 and #42 is interesting, obviously it's not a big splash or anything. I would do it if the Jazz really liked someone in the early second-round (Muscala) and didn't want to reach for him at #21.

CJ McCollum has been to Orlando and Philadelphia for private, individual workouts. Starting Thursday in Phoenix, McCollum will display his skills for six other teams — Phoenix, Sacramento, Portland, Minnesota, Utah and Detroit — before returning to his temporary home away from home (Long Island) on June 20.

McCollum could be a Stephen Curry type of player in this league.

As much as I love Burks, I would trade him for McCollum straight up. Reminiscent of what the Spurs did in 2011, when they traded George Hill for Kawhi Leonard who they really wanted i.e. the Jazz and McCollum.

What do you think about the Cavs taking Shane Larkin at #19 as a back up to Kyrie?
Chad Ford

1. Don't think Larkin will be there. Think both the Jazz and Bucks have a lot of interest in him.
