I'm going to go out on a limb here. If the Jazz can't get McCollum (or Burke), I think there is a 50% chance or more that they're targeting Nate Wolters.

Wolters has the size, the shooting, the IQ, the ability to score from mid-range, the ability to get to the hoop, the ability to work off of picks, the work ethic and coachability. He also rebounds. Plus he's seasoned and almost ready to contribute right away. Schroeder is still pretty raw, and Larkin is still pretty small. Wolters played small-conference ball, but he was guarded by bigger players a lot and dealt with double teams. On top of that, Utah is an upgrade from South Dakota.

Don't say I didn't warn you. It's quite possible the Jazz would pick Gobert and Wolters as a book-end strategy around the core-4. Then they can get a wing or back-up PG at #46, and pick up Aminu in free agency. This is assuming they can't shake things up and move up in the draft.

I feel the same way. although you need to change your sig.

This. I really hope this is the point guard the Jazz draft in this draft, the only one I would want them to move up to get is Trey Burke. If not I love Gobert at 14 and Wolters at 21 if they can't get two early 2nd rounders for 21.

at 14 there are so many options. Gobert is intriguing but I am not sold on height alone. I like karasev too. though a karasev wolters draft lacks defense.

You mean if Schroeder's still on the board at #14, that they'll pick Gobert/Adams instead?

I think that's a possibility if they can trade #21 for x2 second rounders and are confident they can grab Wolters with 1 of them. Wolters at #21 is an absolute reach.

And the Jazz don't reach for a player in a draft. Ever.

The other thing is that Wolters can play both on or off the ball. Whereas, Schroeder and Larkin really need the ball in their hands or be the center of the action to be effective. With Wolters, the Jazz can run plays interchangeably with Hayward and Burks, and Wolters can help space the floor or become a cutter.

The Jazz can do those 2-guard plays they used to run with both Stockton and Eisley on the floor.

Well, Wolters could be the next Steve Nash / Jeff Hornacek player that fits the Jazz system and looks like a brilliant pick. You have to understand, Wolters has never played with anyone good on his own team. Put him next to Favors, Kanter and Hayward, and he might look great.

Once you get outside of the top 15, this draft is really flat. It's hard to call anyone a real reach. Conventional wisdom would say we should pick Glen Rice Jr. or Gorgui Dieng or Reggie Bullock at #21, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder in this draft. Wolters is as legit a prospect as Larkin and probably just a step behind Schroeder, assuming Schroeder is going to continue to develop.

My one concern is how he adjusts to NBA speed.

What gives you this impression? Wolters is the most ball dominant of the bunch, and Larkin's a terrific shooter.

Also, Aminu? Really?

Because Wolters plays both on and off the ball and can score on bigger defenders. He's not more ball-dominant than Larkin. Larkin's a great shooter, but he's going to have a hard time getting high-percentage shots off. Larkin's not going to score much in the paint.

And Aminu? I threw that in. I think he's worth picking up as cheap free agent. He's comparable to a lengthy SF we'd get in the 2nd round.

As far as PGs are concerned:

I'm cool with McCollum if we can get up to #8 or #9.

I'm cool with Schroeder at #14, but he needs to work on his strength, mid-range and ability to score in the paint.

I'm also cool with Wolters at #21.

You guys are really letting our "lack of PG" situation/desperation cloud your judgement. Those guys are a reach at those draft positions on any draft boards in the country right now, may be even in overseas ones.

Remember this well: "Desperation leads to Fear, Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering...."
