Following potential 2013 draftees

I've said it before, but I don't think Detroit would take McCollum and be left with two 6'3" guards. I think they'd take either Carter-Williams or Shabazz.

If McCollum gets past #7, I think he'll make it to 9 or 10. That's probably why he just worked out for Portland. But I don't think Portland wants two 6'3" guards either. And that's why I think we can get the #10 pick for #14 + 21.

honestly I am not sold that Larkin is going to be a bad defender at the next level.

Be sold. He'll stink.

Oh, and I don't care that Larkin was in the running for DPOY in his conference...he wasn't a good defender. Good at stealing, but not at defending. Steals, much like blocks, are an incredibly misunderstood stat in regards to their relevance and importance.

Preach it, bro.

i know everyone hates this but we should trade hayward to the suns for #5 and #30

take Oladipo @5
Schroder@14
Tony Mitchell@21
Hardaway Jr@30
Mam Jaiteh@46

Schroder / Burks / Tinsley / ???
Oladipo / Hardaway JR / Burks
Burks / Mitchell / Oladipo / Marvin
Favors / Kanter / Mitchell / Marvin
Kanter/ Favors / Jaiteh

^^ id bet theoretical dollars kanter would go 20/10 nightly in this scenario
No.

In a normal draft, that is not a terrible idea. But if I had to guess, I would say Hayward will have a better career than oladipo.
This.
**** it. lets have some fun for ****s sake. schoeder might be a handful, but damn if he wouldn't spice up our ****ing team
This.
I don't think anyone would say "No" to Larkin at #21..

It's taking him at #14 ahead of Schroeder that really scares me......

I would pass at 21.

catch do you think McCollum goes before or after MCW?

It could go either way, and I think that's precisely the question that the Kings are asking themselves. But I could see one of them slipping as far as Dallas at #13. At that point, Dallas will probably take either one because it's too much value to pass up on.

Overall, Carter-Williams' size makes him more likely to be picked by teams like Detroit (who have Knight) and Portland (who have Lillard). I think Minnesota wants KCP if they can't swing up for Oladipo. So that being the case, McCollum could slip to #11. Philadelphia would probably still take a big since they have Holliday. OKC would take a hard look, but they've got Westbrook and Jackson. So McCollum could slide all the way to Dallas, and at that point, they'd snatch him up. He's a great trade chip, if nothing else, and several teams would come calling.

If the Jazz are serious about McCollum, they need to have a trade ready for #9 and watch what happens at #7 and #8.

see like what people dont understand here is that i have a higher grade on Alex Len than i did Hayward.

so if we could get #3 for hayward, to take Len, in my book thats a win everytime

thats just me, i have a tendency to put a Big #1 overall

i had Lamarcus Aldridge #1 overall
i did not have Greg Oden #1 overall
i had Yao Ming #1 overall
i had Enes Kanter#1 overall
and Demarcus Cousins #1 overall
my personal favorite so far, since tim duncan

i had Brook Lopez #1 overall

and my biggest gaffe was Hasheem Thabeet near #1, but memphis was a terrible spot for him, shame on them for that pick

so this year not to keep tradition but because i actually have him graded the highest,

Alex Len is my #1 overall player

You are certifiably insane.

He doesn't have the "humbleness" you find in guys who are filled with the Spirit like Durant, Wade, Lillard, Burke...

Being self-assured and knowing you're ****ing good is not a sin.

Who would you like the Jazz to take when this situation plays out

#1 Noel
#2 McLemore
#3 Bennett
#4 Oladipo
#5 Porter
#6 Burke
#7 Len
#8 Carter-Williams
#9 McCollum
#10 Muhammad
#11 Adams
#12 Zeller
#13 Schroeder

#14? Olynyk? Adetokunbo? Larkin?

Gobert.

but in greg odens defense, the legend goes he could take a penny off the backboard, meaning greg oden was like a Bigger Dwight Howard, its a shame he fell off

if he ever checks out and has some bounce in his knees, can run the floor, someone will pay him...

btw if gobert puts on 25lbs hes effectively the same size or bigger than Greg Oden, whos listed weight was probably less than reality so lets call it 35lbs

Lucas is almost the same size frame as Oden - 30lbs and slower less explosive combne #'s

$10k says he doesn't play more than 100 minutes from here out. $1k says he never plays a minute.

catch do you think McCollum goes before or after MCW?

Not Catch.. but I def see CJ going first.

KCP, Gobert and Olynyk are pretty much the 3 guys who can push Schroeder down to the Jazz at #14.

The Kings are a serious threat to take McCollum at #7.

Being self-assured and knowing you're ****ing good is not a sin.

No doubt.

But he need to realize that he's not even that good yet. He doesn't even seem to realize that!! As an example, he prides himself on defense, but then you have Walt Perrin coming out and saying "He has a ways to go defensively".

I dunno.. I just don't get that vibe that he's willing to evaluate himself fairly and put his head down to improve......

Dennis Schröder = Rodrigue Beaubois

Long, super athletic point guard, and both very quick. Bunch of unknowns and questions.

Same size measurables and both these mystery men we all gal in love with before the draft.

If someone major (i.e., Shabazz, McCollum) doesn't slip to us at #14, then I think I want Giannis at #14 and either Schroeder or Wolters at 21.

When the Jazz brought in Larkin and Schroeder, I think it was for the 21st pick, not the 14th.

Giannis seems to be hitting his jumper and making plays in Europe at U20. A 6'10" SF who can dribble, pass and finish both inside and out is rare.

Schroeder/Wolters
Hayward
Giannis
Kanter
Favors

That's some serious talent right there.

If the Jazz could somehow get both McCollum and Giannis out of this draft, that might be enough to contend right there.

It would probably require trading out Burks to get McCollum though.

He's there.....

With this year's EuroCamp in full swing, it is worth noting the very strong turnout of NBA GMs and key decision makers this year. Dennis Lindsey (Utah), Rob Hennigan (Orlando), Masai Ujiri (Toronto), Mike Bratz (Denver), John Hollinger (Memphis), Donnie Nelson (Dallas), George David (Detroit), Daryl Morey (Houston), Sam Hinkie (Philadelphia), Bob Myers (Golden State), Kevin Pritchard (Indiana), Geoff Petrie (Sacramento), Dell Demps (New Orleans), Flip Saunders (Minnesota), Brian Hagen (Chicago), Wes Wilcox (Atlanta), Tommy Shepperd (Washington), and Milt Newton (Washington) are only a few names on the laundry list of key players in attendance. This is a great development for the EuroCamp, showing that it really has become a must-attend event for NBA decision makers. Saunders addressed all the campers as the day's guest speaker.

Then why waste a pick on Schraeder? Roddy is a RFA, Dallas wants money to chase Howard. Sign Beaubois to a front loaded 3 year contract.

There are 50 FA point gaurds listed on this 2013 FA list. Everyone knows that the Jazz have a starting job available. Jazz should have plenty of FA options.
