What's new

Bought NBA Jam for Wii. Wiish I didn't.

More NBA Jam:

John Stockton got absolutely screwed with a 3Point shot rating of 4. Completely ridiculous.

Unlockable teams include the Republicans and the Democrats. All the Republicans have a steal rating of eight, which I'm pretty sure is a political statement of some kind.

Dick Cheney has a pretty high shooting accuracy, which I don't think is supported historically.

George Bush's clutch rating is a "3."

Hillary Clinton is a playable character so if you ever wanted to push her over now is your chance.

If I remember correctly Stockton had a super high "clutch" and "3pt" rating in the original which made the Jazz a real powerhouse team. Malone had really high Dunk, Reb, and average Block.

Oh I don't know.
The fact that everybody is so in love with FPS wuss games.

If you want to shoot a fu***** gun, then go shoot a fu***** gun!!

What the hell? Your views on video games are obviously skewed to a point beyond reason.

And yes, the reason I play video games is for the simulated feeling of shooting a gun, not the unique gameplay that they offer. Why do you play sports games? Why not go play real sports? Why play racing games? You have a driver's license. Go race somebody. Your logic fails, hard.

The obvious point to playing video games is for entertainment. I think games in which you use guns that are unique and simulate battle situations are fun. If you don't, then that's fine. But what the ****.. insulting a specific genre of video games, what's the point of that?

Suddenly this discussion seems pointless. Here's a comic to sum it all up. Guess which guy you are.

"Wuss"? So I guess flailing around your living room playing one of the dozen or so golf or bowling games on the Wii makes you a real hardass, right?

As unluckyseventeen already pointed out, the biggest appeal to most people who play video games is to be able to have an experience you can't have anywhere else. If I wanted to just "shoot a gun", I could totally do that. But if I wanted to, let's say, team up with a squad of friends and take on another group of similarly skilled individuals using the latest in military technology in an all-or-nothing battle to the death... well, that would involve purchasing a large plot of land, possibly even my own island - substantially more money than a typical trip to a firing range. And seeing as I'm not a ****ing Bond villain, I guess I'll just have to settle for Call of Duty.

Meanwhile if I want to go bowling... I can get in my car and drive to Sandy Lanes.

The argument you're using is one I've heard a thousand times, although it's far more grandiose - typically phrased like "If you want to shoot people, go join the army!"

Games allow you to do things that simply are not a viable option in your everyday life. Engage in warfare, fly a jet plane, be a professional athlete, pick up a hooker and then run her down with your car after she's done and take your money back...

I understand you don't like the FPS genre, but that doesn't mean they "suck". Or that they're stupid or wussy or whatever other elementary school insults you want to throw at them.

You've demonstrated a complete lack of understanding for the subject at hand, and I can say with much confidence that I probably know more about the video game industry than you've ever forgotten.

Most people play the popular FPS's because they think it's the cool thing to do anyway.

Problem is, most of these kids are so wound up in their killfests, that they pay absolutely no attention to what's going on in the world.

Then you've got Modern Warfare, with it's complete brainashing.
It's all good if you know the attempt at a brainwash, but most well meaning people just get brainwashed with propaganda from these so-called fun games.

Metroid other M was pretty bad ***. That's the only game on wii that I've liked this year. Although SMG 2 is no doubt swell, but I played through the last one in December so I haven't been in a mood to play it yet.

Actually, you could say MMO players are much worse at ignoring society in order to play games like WoW. But you know what? That's what they do to have fun. As soon as you start criticizing people for the way they have fun, if it doesn't affect anybody else, that's the moment you look like a, well, you know...

Then you've got Modern Warfare, with it's complete brainashing.

How is it brainwashing at all? It's story is completely far-fetched. Have you even played it?

Are you the same person that called Faux News to report that Mass Effect had full-frontal nudity and a hardcore sex scene?

Yeah I've played Modern Warfare. Where they setup a CIA double agent to be killed.
And where one of the missions is to complete a false flag terror attack at an airport.

Anybody remember 9/11??

The underwear bomber??

Hmm, false flag.....

God forbid our video games tell a story or slightly mirror real-world events.

Once again, people with the capability to reason understand that it's a game and it's meant for entertainment, not to push some sort of pointless political agenda. You seem to struggle with the difference, though.

Oh come on now. Everything is to push a political agenda, especially games like that.

If you can't see that, then your the one that's struggling here.
