DX Mock Draft has Schroeder falling to 24

Kid is falling and falling.

I want us to take a look at DJ Stephens in the second round who is the most freakish athlete I have ever seen. Elite level length, vertical and speed. Could get some dunks and play some defense. No a risk in the second round.

Hate to be a broken record.. but 'draft stock' is not determined by mocks. Now, I would be in agreement if we said he's sliding in the mocks.. but not draft stock.

you can't bust at 14
So when we picked Snyder at 16 wasn't a bust when we could've drafted Josh Smith?? Say we draft Schroeder and a pick or two down the guy we should've picked turns out to haunt us for the next ten years. After we picked Hayward, what if he had sucked as a player? Jazz fans would be lamenting this pick for years.

sounds like a personal problem.

A backcourt of Larkin and Foye would be a horrible defensive liability. And yes, I believe the Jazz FO will bring the team's 3 point leader back. Sadly...
Good news(tongue-in-cheek) is we will probably start Mo, Foye, Hayward, Favors and Al with Larkin getting spot second team minutes with Kanter, Burks and Marvin.

If Foye, Mo, and Al come back, I'm going to hurl

Schroeder is currently 24th going by DX, no 1st round player has made a +10 gainer since Craig Brackins in 2010. Still a lot can change, but currently it seems highly improbable the Jazz will pick Schroeder.

Outside of the top ten you are just hoping to get a rotation player so it's really impossible for one of those guys to "bust". And it doesn't matter if the greatest player of all time is drafted immediately afterwards. That is a whole different issue.

There is a lot of depth in this draft---out to the end of the 1st round and even early 2nd round. However, there are only a handful of teams that are likely to make picking a PG a priority. Players like Schroeder and Larkin need to get picked up by one of those teams, or they do risk sliding as many as 10 spots.

Players like Karasev, Bullock, Rice Jr., Dieng, Crabbe, etc. going in the 20s just show the depth of this draft.

I agree that with mediocre players it's actually very deep... through 60+.

If there's anything we know about this draft, it's that nobody knows what the **** is going on.

Ford's write up on Schroeder, nothing we don't already know. Although it seems like his workouts so far has helped us in grabbing him at #14. If he can develop in the way that I think he can, he'll be a steal at #14 in this supposedly "weak" draft.

Schroeder is back in Germany after working out for the Mavs, Bucks, Celtics, Jazz and Rockets. Like Larkin, Schroeder's range now appears in the 14-16 window, with the Jazz, Bucks and Celtics all eyeing the point guard. However, sources say the workouts haven't gone particularly well for Schroeder, and he's struggled against the more physical defense at the workouts. "He looked frustrated," one NBA scout said of Schroeder's workout with his team. "His body language wasn't great. He's a very good talent and I wouldn't read too much into the workout, but it didn't really help him."
