What's new

Shane Larkin to the Jazz at #14, becoming popular

Basically, there is not a single PG who is going to last until 14 who is worth a damn.. that's what I'm getting at this point.

He's probably a cheaper Marvin... with a better 3. Nothing great.

I think I could get behind him.

Do you think he's capable of shooting as well as Korver did? Can he guard the 3 at least as well as Korver (who was incredibly underrated here for years) or have the same motor? Those two have almost identical measurements in height, length, and speed. The difference is Korver was stronger & heavier, 1/2 inch taller, but jumped 5 inches shorter.

Bullock looks like he can run those screen plays (a favorite of mine since that prick Peja crushed us with them, and they're sorely missing from Corbin's repertoire). Sets his feet real quick to jump straight up.

He's a great shooter and a better defender than Korver, imo. I'm not calling him crazy good or anything, but if we can pick up a guy at 21 that is money from 3 AND a good defensive player, that's a win in my book.

LOL!!!

Some of you are talking about wasting away a pick (#14) on Larkin because we currently don't have any PGs on this roster? HUH???

You don't compound the original mistake (of not having any PGs) by committing another horrible mistake.

You draft the BPA and go from there. Drafting the BPA might allow more roster movement (allowing someone like Burks to play PG), allows that new player to take the place of someone else (which could lead to a potential trade to get a PG), and prevents the Jazz from missing out on a superior talent.

You don't draft for needs. Draft the BPA, period. The PG situation will take care of itself. It's not like we're competing for a title next year anyway. Rebuild is exactly what it sounds like, PROCESS OF REBUILDING A ROSTER. It may take us another 2-3 years to find that franchise PG that we all need. Until then, continue to build up!

If you have a problem with this, write in and complain to the Jazz FO for not trading a few of those 8 FAs that they had last year before the trade deadline. Keeping Big Al and Millsap were horrible mistakes.

Thing is he's undersized, not long at all, maybe average quickness, and kinda weak. Marvin W. is taller, longer, and was 28 lbs heavier coming out, which is why he can stay with guys. But he's still not overly impressive All D team or anything.

Just don't see how Bullock's going to recover from penetrators putting him into reverse when he's missing that length. They'll push him around too.

But the kid can shoot.

I'd be thrilled with him at 21. He doesn't seem as risky as some of these other picks. Maybe not a huge upside, but you know what you are getting.
We need his shooting.

I'm all for Karasev at #14 or #21
Great shooter and at 6' 7" can shoot over most defenders.
Three point shooting wins games.
