Following potential 2013 draftees

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson about 21 minutes ago Add Duke center Mason Plumlee to the list of players the #Twolves will workout at Target Center. He's in on June 22, per a source.

Thats odd. Timberwolfs have the 9th and 26th picks. Pretty sure Plumlee is not in play at 9th. But he should be gone by 26.

Now if the Timberwolfs had more middle picks, say like 14 to 21 range it would make all kinds of sense to bring in Plumlee and work him out.

But the Jazz haven't.

9 & 26 for 14 & 21 still in play? Is it dependant on AK opting in?

Keep in mind that some of the other top 10 have been rumored to be shopping thir picks.

Yes, and I really have no clue what the Jazz are doing.

Come draft night the only thing that will suprise me is if the Jazz draft and keep 14, 21, & 46.

Trade 14 & 21 for a top 10, draft CJ, pick Solomon Hill in round 2 and call it a night.

We can sign a FA for our 3rd big.

I'm starting to feel this way, too. If there is a player the Jazz are fairly high on, believe can be a solid starter or 6th-man, and they have to trade into 9-11 spot to get him, then go ahead. As long as they're just trading picks. I'd hate to see them sacrifice a player like Burks. I think Alec can be used as part of a better deal at the deadline; for example, if a team wants a SG in return for a good starting wing or PG they have to sacrifice due to tax issues.

Nice investigative work there Mellow.

Wolves working out Plumlee and Jazz working out Zeller & McCollum fits that trade perfectly.

If I were the Wolves, and I know that KCP is a reach at #9 (pretty sure 76ers, OKC or Dallas don't want him), then it makes sense to trade out and grab KCP at #14 and say Plumlee at #21. Those are 2 nice solid pieces, a starting SG and a legit 3rd big.

Jazz will get McCollum and a slightly less talented wing at #26, but that's the price you'll have to pay... Jazz might also have to throw in a future 2nd.

Yeah wow that's just a terrible trade for the Wolves. I get that we each lose 5 and gain 5 draft spaces.... but moving up from 14 to 9 >>>>>> moving back from 21 to 26. There's no way the Jazz would not do this deal.

Which means if we trade up and draft CJ it will be hilarious if the team we trade with drafts Schroeder with the 21st pick. That will allow me to troll kkk for a full month. By the time I'm done with him, he wont preach love ever again:)

McCollum is ahead of Schroeder on most mocks/big board for a reason. He's much more of a sure thing. To be honest I think he's a much better fit for our personnel as well with his shooting ability (spread the floor for Favors & Kanter).

If we can't trade up to get him, however, Schroeder is a PG who has the "potential" to surpass Burke/McCollum, but he needs to want to improve. Give him to the Spurs and I do believe he has enough talent to be an All Star one day.

A couple of things for the Wolves to consider:

1. We'll throw in a future 2nd rounder. So that's an extra incentive there.

2. This draft is wide open from #10 - #24, the talent is so flat there that you can still grab someone very decent at #21.

3. The guy they actually want (KCP) will be a reach at #9 just because 76ers, OKC and DAL all seems to want either Bigs or PG.

To me this situation is tailored to Minny saying "Yes".

"The stars are aligned" so to speak.

In that scenario I figure the Jazz have to accept salary back from Timberwolfs. If AK opts in they are in a pinch with Pekovic and Budinger still to sign and then no more cap space to improve. I heard/read that Minny is pretty desperate to make the playoffs next year. (or risk having Love unhappy).

In possible trade scenarios, remember that we have not just second round picks to sweeten deals, but also Tomic rights (don't know if this is more or less valuable than a 2nd-round pick these days). I seem to recall Wolves once were interested in Tomic, but have no idea if they still are under their new FO.

I would be... how you say... most pleased if this were the case somehow.

Then I'd take back the salary and I'd swap #9 and #14.

But I would not #21 and #26.

Just tell them to pick their poison.
