Following potential 2013 draftees

Yeah but if you put your self in Minny's shoes..

- you need a scoring SG

- Bazz is off the board

- You don't need Adams, Olynyk, Zeller, MCW, etc.

Then what's stopping you from trading down to grab him?

Nothing.. I was actually endorsing your non-Bravo'esque trade idea.

Why wouldn't McCollum be Minnesota's pick at 9 if they need a scoring 2 guard?

I want McCollum to be drafted by the Jazz just as much as the next guy but isn't McCollum a more scoring guard than KCP?

I heard they were down on McCollum because 1-they are already loaded at pg and 2-they feel like they need a bigger sg.

Yep. They already have Rubio at the PG. They really need an oversized, athletic SG who can shoot 3's consistently.

Bazz & KCP fits the bill perfectly for them.

Players don't just radically change their shot mechanics over night. Remember when Tebow tried to change his throwing motion. If he can't do it Schroeder cant either. Also if he has no left hand now he won't be able to develop it now. Never seen someone overcome that. If he doesn't have a left hand he never will. The only thing I can see him improving drastically is finishing at the rim. Yes he can improve on those other weaknesses, but only marginally.

So yes it does hurt his potential.

This.

Is a crock.

McCollum is ahead of Schroeder on most mocks/big board for a reason. He's much more of a sure thing. To be honest I think he's a much better fit for our personnel as well with his shooting ability (spread the floor for Favors & Kanter).

If we can't trade up to get him, however, Schroeder is a PG who has the "potential" to surpass Burke/McCollum, but he needs to want to improve. Give him to the Spurs and I do believe he has enough talent to be an All Star one day.

Yep.

KCP is an epic reach at 9.

Portland has grumbled about having interest in KCP at #10, but that might be a head fake to deter a trade btw Utah and Minny.

I think Minny could take Glen Rice Jr. and be just as well off (or better) than taking KCP. Keep an eye on Jamal Franklin too. See if he works out for Minnesota.

I think Minnesota is looking at multiple trade ideas. I think they're open to moving Derrick Williams, and I think they want to move Luke Ridnour.

They're under pressure to win in order to impress their fan base, and Kevin Love, which might also affect their fan base.

So we take Ridnour.. that's all I got..

ok let me see if I can add my 2 cents to what has been said.

1st - trade with minny. if kcp is their target then portland might take him but I agree a little further down rice, Franklin, karasev and potentially shabazz make great sense. it is also rumored that minny want oj mayo badly. they will be looking to cut some salary to make him an offer. pekovic is going to be expensive. ak really needs to opt out. the would also look at moving Williams.

2nd - loved that interview with Adams. would love to get 13 from Dallas and take him. use tomic in the trade to get 9 and I am pumped. kanter or favors would have to become inside scorers because Adams will struggle.

3rd - advanced statistics, which Lindsey is supposedly big on, are out and a few surprises. Adams at #6, McCollum at 11, karasev at 13, withey at 14, Carmichael 21, muscala 23, shabazz 28, kcp 38, wolters 41 and Larkin at 50.

interesting for teams that are big on advanced statistics.

I still think a swap with okc then offer 12 and tomic to minny for 9 is very realistic. take on marion offer a couple seconds and draft Adams at 13, then wolters at 29.

Shabazz will probably be taken by #8 (Pistons). Chances of him slipping to #9 are less than 50%.

Adams is likely to be taken by Philly or OKC. One would likely take Zeller, and the other would likely take Adams.

If the Jazz get to #9, there is a decent chance that either McCollum or Trey Burke would be there for them.

If the Jazz get #13 or keep 14, they are probably still looking at Schroeder, Giannis, Olynyk, Franklin and the like.

Somewhere along the 1114 pages I got it in my head that Bazz is a bad spot up shooter and bad from 3pt ---so I guess that is wrong?

I think we need to trade up and get Trey Burke. Dude's a real PG and a real baller. All we need at the PG spot.

We need that Dallas pick and need to trade up.

Like you and coach Antigua? Grilling yes, beer not so much.

But yes, I thought that Bazz was a slasher scorer not a shooter. Thats why I have been reserved on him.
In fairness.. he is much more a power to the rim guy. He just so happens to also be able to hit from anywhere.. so you're somewhat right.
