What's new

New $15 million scoreboard being added to ESA

I seem to remember Deron being part of the push to get the upgraded sound system and player introductions a few years back. So saying that players wont care is probably not accurate.

Exactly, but let the simpletons keep the whine going. ANYTHING that upgrades the arena where the team plays will help, in some ways, the team. YES, obviously it is about making the people that come to games happier. Isnt that a good thing? Doesn't that make more people come, doesn't that make the crowd louder? Doesn't that make it more fun to play there?
Saying It is JUST to keep season ticket holders happy Green, that is moronic at best. I would guess most of the people at a game Arent season ticket holders, and yet they will benefit from the screen also. Or do you get a pair of special classes when you enter the arena, only if you are a season ticket holder. God some of you guys are such pessimists and negative nancy's, everything done, even if it is a GOOD thing, has to suck in someway to keep your poop colored view of the world accurate...sad

LOL. Over-react much? I know for a fact that season ticket holder numbers have dropped big time this year.

I know for a fact that when asked, a lot of those season ticket holders who dropped mentioned that a better screen would help lure them back.

I know for a fact that since the announcement was made, Jazz employees have been calling all day, everyday, previous season ticket holders and offering them their seats back.

So, will it be a bonus for players? Yup. Will it be fun for those who only make it to a couple games a year? Yup. Are those two outlying reasons the reason why the Millers decided to spend 15 million? Nope. They don't care about the guy who only spends $80 a season going to a couple of games in the nosebleeds (owners are already trying to figure out a way to get rid of the upper bowl tickets and put suites there anyways. Over 80% of revenue from games comes from season ticket holders in the lower bowl and suites. Upper bowl is just a mess to clean up). Sorry.

The Millers would not be spending the money on the screen if they weren't trying to appease season ticket holders. That is why they are doing it now. Season ticket holders do not like Corbin, and this is their olive branch.

Source? I would imagine concessions and advertising make more than 20%
