I know that this is a highlight video but two things I noticed:
First, he seemed to be able to finish around the rim in traffic quite a bit (a huge complaint from the anti Schröder crowd).
Second, he seemed as fluid going left as he did going right (another big complaint).
I still firmly believe that he will separate himself as the best PG in this draft by the end of his third season in the NBA. If you do think that is significant enough then you probably don't understand recent draft history.
OH **** you're right!!! At 1.00min he went to his left and finish no problem whatsoeva!!
Don't let the haters know.
He even did it twice, on a back-to-back highlight play. Take that, haters!
Thee is going to come after us both. Watch yourself.
Well he can go left and while his left is nowhere near as bad as some ppl here think, he has still to improve a lot in this area. Hesitation moves and crossovers are not really his repertoire at this point while going left.OH **** you're right!!! At 1.00min he went to his left and finish no problem whatsoeva!!

Putting the 2 scenes into perspective. Both are Pick n Roll Situations, where the defense switched. In the first scene you can see Tyrese Rice(former Boston College Standout, known for lackluster defense over here) getting caught up in the screen, while trying to go above it for no reason. After that Lawrence Roberts(former Mississippi State) has to guard him way too far from the basket and can't keep up with his speed. So I'd say the defense made him look good in that situation. 2nd Situation is the similar. Very high PnR results in player switching defensively, and Defender can't keep up with Schröder's speed.
But in general, that's what he can do right now going left. If he manages to misdirect the defense he can utilize his quickness off the pick and roll to make a play going left.
Edit: Last 5 sec of the vid you got another of these PnR settings, where the defense allows him to score easy going left.
Archie against Louisville (national champs)... you can see the possibilities.

If he can play pg in the nba then I say snatch him up. To me he looks like a tougher Burks. If we draft him at 21, then trade Burks and 14 for McCollum, think these two could be a killer combo.
Quick question for PKM...
How is Archie's defense? Do you think he can guard pg's at the nba level?

I bet UGLI lobbies for McCollum...................................
Nick and you are obviously right to point it out to those who call him an one-armed-bandit. I just think when going into detail, the defense made bad decisions there, defending a PnR at 30 feet away from the basket at first. Then I'd start defending Schröder at the 3pt line and even then walk under screens unless he hit a 3 off the dribble in one of the previous possessions. Fighting over a screen resulting in a unfavorable switch way too far from the basket resulted in Schröder making a good play. That's definately a plus for him. He's able to spot mistakes from the defense and take advantage of them. Imo, his play kinda mature for his age. The TOs occurr when having stubborn misunderstandings with teammates throwing the ball out of bounds or not seeing the floor properly which results in intercepted passes. But he won't run around and jack up guarded 3s from way too deep, like some other kids his age do. He plays within himself you could say.So according to you it's a fluke?

I'd even go that far to say his weakness to go left won't hurt his rookie season, as NBA teams usually don't respect Rookies not named LeBron James in terms of game preparation(at least from my experience)
He'll have to develop a stronger left handle obviously in the future. The sooner the better. I don't really know how likely it is to improve ballhandling, but I've seen cases where I felt a player improved that a lot. And his measurements indicate that he's got the physical tools to be a good ballhandler.
On another note for those rooting for Goodwin. Why not sign Tyreke Evans to an offer sheet? Maybe it's one year early as it makes tanking next season impossible in order to grab that franchise cornerstone, but in general I think he could be a good 3rd option on a contender, maybe in a Jason Terry/Jamal Crawford/JR Smith kind of role. Bringing energy and scoring from the bench.
Goodwin reminds me a lot of Tyreke Evans in terms of his strengths and weaknesses. shooting and consistency come to my mind first. Too many off nights... I do like his energy while i dislike his ballhandling/decision making abilities at this point, which lead to more than just a couple turnovers. I think he's a huge project at this point, but I don't think the Jazz will draft him.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs take their chance with 28th pick in case he is a good kid. His interviews actually don't make me believe he'd be a bad influence ( PKM? ). Being selected low first would be very good for him, as he'll probably need a lot of time and patience to reach his potential. Being on a impatient trigger happy franchise on a non guaranteed 2 yr contract could be toxic to his development.
