Deal close for Houston's Robinson (Jazz possibly in the mix)

I think the idea here is that Utah gives up Burks + 21 or 14 + 21 for the number 7 pick and also agrees to take back a bad contract (which happens to be Jimmer). I don't think Jimmer is really adding value to the trade for Utah. It's just Utah sweetening the deal.

From a business point of view, in a tanking year Jimmer would fill the seats. And he might be able to play as a backup guard.

Great point. Similar to how GSW brought in Jackson to fill the seats/create excitement during their tank.

Rep'd.

What am I missing in regards to T Robb? Is he a head case? The dude is super athletic and big. He has to be better than any thing available at #21 right?

He was drafted to a bad team where his position was loaded, then traded to another team where his position was also loaded. Maybe he really sucks, or maybe he just hasn't had enough opportunities.

He has to become more mobile with the ball and hit a shot every now and then. When he was being mocked at #2 I cautioned and had him at #14... it's still there, look it up.

Think he will be successful in the nba. Think he will be a late bloomer. I'd give up 21 for him. How's his shooting stroke does it look like he has a shot to develop this like Sap did. He'd be great off the bench, and finally get us a draft pick in last years draft lol.

His shooting has no stroke.. doubt he ever gets one.

I think he can be a great rebounder and a great defender. I also think he can be a good passer.. but that's negated by not being able to shoot.
I too would trade the 21 for him, tho

Oh my god! That is a bad trade.

If TRob is going for cheap, it would be stupid to not take a flyer on him. The NBA is won by skilled athletes, and Trob is a very good one of those with a few missing skills. I'd rather try to train him to shoot and dribble over trying to teach Kelly Olynyk or somebody like that, to be a great athlete..

I think Trob still has a chance to be really good.

Hell yes to taking on T- robs contract and even shelling out the 21st pick, or taking on another contract. He has a ton of upside.

They mentioned T-Rob on 1280 the other day and people had attributed a lot of his poor rookie season to his of the court baggage. They said Robinson is raising his little sister in his own. His mother isn't in the picture for whatever reason. I think whatever team can help him with his off court complications may be able to tap in in his potential. Utah is a friendly family oriented place that just might be the right environment for him to thrive. And if not, the risk isn't that high.

"professional" virtual reality goggles.

Yes, as in, you'll most definitely need a "professional" after wearing these. lol
