His buyout is way to big, and IINM, the Jazz could only contribute $500K or something like that. Tomic essentially sealed his fate when he signed his contract. Jazz have moved on by drafting Gobert.Tomic is playing great lately. He could be a very good big for us. But I doubt he wants to come over as he is becoming a star and making good money where he is now.
PG Burke, McNeil, Neto
SG Burks, Murphy
SF Hayward, Marvin
PF Favors, Evans
C Kanter, Rudy
Thats 11 players! Assuming Neto and Rudy come over this year.
I'd assume Foye and Junkyard Dog will be back. Now were at 13.
Add in Tomic and were at 14!
Crazy.
No, they don't. Jazz don't have to spend another dime. If they're under the minimum at season's end, the difference is paid to the players on the roster as a bonus. Trust me, the Jazz' plan, which KOC has been talking about for 2+ years (and which Lindsey has been very open about) is to have plenty of cap space available at the deadline. They believe some real bargains will be offered as teams scramble to get under the punitive 1.5-2X luxury tax. Utah is in perfect position to start a bidding war and demand a fortune. Essentially, taking on a $10M player at the deadline could save a team up to $25M (the remaining salary for 2014 + the 2x tax penalty). That's the kind of salary relief that could fetch not only a very good player, but also a lottery pick. We'll have around $25M for those types of deals, depending on how the Jazz fill out the roster. We have to spend about 20 million dollars right now to be at the min. Its around 50 million I think this year. We are close to 30 million.
We have to spend some money. Most likely a veteran PG and veteran SF to fill the cap room. Need 2-3 more free agents who combine for about 15 million total. Than the rest can be small contract.

GVC gets the credit for educating me about this. I just pass it along as needed. It really makes me excited for the trade deadline. Also helped me last season when there were no trades. I knew EXACTLY what KOC and Lindsey were doing. You are correct. Wow I had no idea the new CBA changed this. No more minimums. That is awesome!!!! I had to look it up.

Locke said that Murphy is gone. It was something like a team option on year 2 and they were not impressed so he's gone.
sign jarrett jack 1 year 6million
