Veterans are coming...time to panic?

Aw, HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

LIndsey mentioned getting back around to the players that the jazz hold the Bird rights to. Corbin also talked about the Jazz bringing in vets. Have to listen to the press conference again, but it certainly sounds like the Jazz are not going to throw the youngsters out there and, in so doing, set themselves up for a top 5-7 pick. DAMN! This is EXACTLY what the next step HAS to be. With this current group and bringing back any vets, the Jazz can again compete for that 4th spot in the West in 2-3 years, have home court for a round, then get flushed out. Utah STILL needs a franchise player. And they could get one next season. I swear, I will STOP being a Jazz fan if they bring back Al. I'll even be on the edge watching Foye chucking up 3's while Burks wastes away on the bench.

After being THRILLED last night, I feel like someone has now doused me with cold water.

Any FA we sign is most likely going to be a veteran FA unless we sign a really ****ty young player who's rookie option wasn't picked up.

How is Trey's post entry pass ability? Big Al will finally have a true phenom feeding him the rock.

In all seriousness, would DeMarre count as veteran leadership?

Jazz philosophy is that you only can win with veterans and that they are better players. You can suck as a player but as long as you have experience, you're the better player and you deserve to start.

But fact is:

Burke > Mo
Burks > Foye
Hayward > Marwin
Favors > Millsap
Kanter > Jefferson.

He didn't say we were gonna sign players with bird's rights, right? Just that we have players with bird's rights that we need to take care of, our figure out what to do with. Or am I wrong? Paul and Al are the only two players with which we have bird's rights.

Unfortunately, Corbin sees exactly the reverse. I fear the Jazz are bringing back Al and trading Enes. There was substance to that rumor. We read the Jazz wanted Olynyk (or Zeller) because there's serious doubt among some in the organization whether Favors and Kanter can play together. Lindsey just talked about getting back to the Jazz' Bird rights players. That means either Paul or Al. BLOODY FREAKIN' HELL! if oneof those two comes back at the expense of Kanter.

Woah... slow down there cowboy. Ya'll trippin. FA will work itself out, Enes isn't getting traded, be happy now

No, but why would he and Corbin be talking about the need for veterans and then Lindsey talks about our players with Bird rights?

Hopefully they'll play those concerns away. Can't we be happy for one 24 hour period? You are stressing me out lol.

Lindsey has been very clear in multiple interviews that they are going with a youth movement so I see no reason for concern. He complimented Ty last night for being willing to go along with it even though it meant fewer wins in the short term - he said the specifically. We will definitely need to sign some vets to fill out the roster. Working with the existing vets to see what you can do and what you can get by possibly moving one of them or signing them to a good deal is a no brainer. Nothing to worry about here.

Bolerjack said something like the Jazz want to offer both, Al and Millsap a new contract for the right price. Looks like they are interested in keeping both but they know that it will be difficult.

Fact is that if Favors and Kanter won't start next year they both will demand a trade. Favors is heading into his 4th and Kanter into his 3th season. Both of them were 3rd picks. I really have a problem with how the Jazz underrate and waste players just because they are young and less experienced. They still treat Kanter and Favors like rookies and prefer to start players like McLeod, Palacio, Foye, Tinsley, Watson...

I found this post quite pleasant. Will "like."

I'm sorry. Am I the only one that thinks that a guy like this.....

might not want to stay and 'play' in Utah for 8 years?

I'm still waiting for Jefferson & Kanter to Charlotte for MKG and Zeller. Or Zeller and a 2014.

^ Fun CAN be had in Utah, ya know?

I'm not Mormon, live in Utah and ... am BORED as ****!!!!

****!!! We're losing Enes!!

Stupid. Enes has a good thing going here. He'll at least wait until he's 25 to make the bolt for big lights if it's something he's disposed to do. I just can't wait until Al and Paul sign elsewhere so that I can sleep at night, happy.

PKM, you have a family. Keep it in your pants outside of your bedroom!

But I have to agree. Lindsey has talked about changes that may not make the fans happy. But again, why waste cap space on Al and/or Paul when we have such a golden opportunity to use it at the deadline? Wasn't this the plan the Jazz had been putting in place for years? Why bring back vets to compete for the 8th seed when we have a chance to get a FRANCHISE player in next year's draft? We're headed down the path of 45-48 wins, 4th-6th seed and NEVER having a chance to contend.

OK, Enes is an immoral partyer. I get it. Gail and Greg don't like his lifestyle. But why trade low? Start him, build up his value and then - maybe - he's traded next season for a top-5 pick. I think that would be very plausible for a guy who averaged 16/8 as a starting 5. Instead, the Jazz are trying to keep AL AND Paul? Enes will get 10 mins again and be traded for pennies on the dollar. Oh, and those great veterans or picks we may have gotten with our cap space? GONE! Instead we get another season of Alfense.. Doesn't matter who the PG is. We had Deron Williams and neither Big Al nor Millsap could run the P&R.

I've gone from euphoria to absolute disgust.
