Poythress vs GRIII would be a fun comparison, battle.
Agree

Follow me a sec. Kyle Wiltjer is leaving UK. I hate that. Great kid, fantastic offensive player.. VERY good. I don't blame him at all for leaving though.. he deserves more minutes than he'll clock this year (probably 10 mpg.. behind mainly freshmen).
Here's the thing.. when Kyle very classily came to Cal to inform him of his intentions (looking like Gonzaga).. he told Cal he was BLOWN AWAY at how much Poythress had progressed in the off season. he told Cal he's not afraid of competition.. but being a realist doesn't see getting much time behind Julius Randle, Poythress, Marcus Lee... but he was specifically talking about what a huge difference in Poythress.
Now this could obvioulsy be the annual off season chatter.. but it got my attention to watch for this transformation.... especially of we don't nab a SF in this draft.
Another reason not to take a SF that high in this draft, there are plenty of good SF in next years draft. This year try to get a third big and a PG who can run the show or be a good back up.
Time to sticky this thread. Full-tank mode, engage.
Drafts are fun. Lets do another one.
Nice post cowhide. Precisely what we did <--------------- understatement.
Let's take a VERY early look at some SF's in 2014;
Andrew Wiggins (6'8) - Kansas - Needs to introduction (freshman)
Glenn Robinson (6'6) - Michigan - We'll see how he does this year at Michigan .. especially without Trey Burke. (sophomore)
T.J. Warren (6'8) - N.C. State (sophomore)
Sam Dekker (6'7) - Wisconsin (sophomore)
Alex Poythress (6'8) - Kentucky (sophomore)
LaQuintin Ross (6'8) - Ohio State (junior)
Kyle Anderson (6'8) - UCLA (sophomore)
Drafts are fun with Dennis Lindsey. Lets do another one.

Parker?
I think it's not clear if Parker is SF or PF right now is what PKM wants to say with it. But his weight says PF,height indicates SF. Wingspan ignored cause prolly unknown. Game between the 2 positions is pretty much interchangable in some ways. Speed, agility and strength are the decisive factors determining which forward position he'll play long term.
I believe that he will slim down in the NBA and play at SF ala Paul Pierce.
Won't disagree. Highly possible. I just think PKM went with how he looks right now and 240 on a 6'8" frame is more Powerforward-ish. Seeing the Interview at the McDonalds highschool game, it looks like his mom is really gifted in the kitchen![]()

OG already brought up Parker, but where is Vonleh? Or do you view him as a PF?
I'm not PKM, but I view Vonleh as a PF. I just don't think he'll ever have the ball handling skills to be an effective SF.
