Corbin has provided ample evidence of coaching ineptitude. To stop acknowledging that ineptitude would necessitate some type of evidence that can be pointed to that demonstrates progress or negates some of his serious missteps. Pointing to some kind of template or getting off his back "just because" does not constitute evidence.

We had an awesome draft. There's a lot of excitement. These are separate issues that need to be teased apart because none of that excitement from draft night was in any way connected to Corbin's potential coaching competency.

This is his first real coaching experience. First he was a player developer then a player mentor and then an assistant here which was really just being the players buddy. If he was the lead assistant coach when he was hired, then ya I'd be concerned for this team. But he wasn't Phil was and he retired right with Jerry so Jerry chose Ty. I don't think Corbin was at all prepared for what he was in for but he's there now and he's getting help from a lot of people in the organization including Jerry Sloan. He's going to get better.
