PMs

Ok I'm really getting tired of having PMs blocked because I forgot/didn't think to delete old messages. I don't mind having a limit on the number of PMs stored, but there should be a way to stop this from happening.

What I hate is not being able to see what the PM was about and I hate it even more to message that person "Hey bro, could you send me that message again? I"ve just cleared my inbox". Most of us here are manly men and it's just a bit weird sending out that sort of message to another dude...

Moreover, if I was the guy trying to send a message, I'd hate it even MORE that I've typed out a whole message, only to have it blocked. I can't even save it as a draft.

Question:

- Is there any way I can get a notification for when my inbox is "nearly" full? May be when I've reached 49 messages, a notification pops up reminding me to delete old ones?

- Otherwise, is there a way to automatically delete old PMs? May be like if PMs are 2 weeks old, they're automatically deleted? (except unread ones of course).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Can't you just make it a habit to check your inbox weekly or daily or whatever? You can also download or archive messages before you delete them if there's a reason you want to save them for future reference.

Why is it always on us to solve your problems for you? There's this thing called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Maybe it's time the two of you became acquainted.

Yeah of course I can make it a habit, but it would be good to have a reminder.

Why have an alarm clock? Take the NBA. How about shot clock violation? Why not just train each players to look at the clock as you play???

How about the timer on the over? Just last night I tried roasting some nuts, and I didn't use the timer - guess what I burnt them all to smithereens.. walnut, brazil nuts, almonds.. all good stuff, all gone.

On the topic of burning stuff, why have fire alarms? Why not train yourself to not burn stuff when you're cooking something??

Why bend over backwards for a long time user of the site who is unwilling to pay $12/yr or $40/lifetime?

Just sayin' You're using the site but you're not willing to chip in. It's a get what you pay for sort of thing.

Well I was just wondering whether that function exists for a free user... if it exists, cool, if it doesn't, that's fine too... no harm done.

It would be good to have, but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't exist.

so set an alarm or an alert for yourself - and you can set up an e-mail alert every time you get a PM - - so that's another way to help you keep track of it - have them all go into a designated mail folder and you'll be able to keep count

or maybe just let folks contact you via e-mail or text message or something

Well I've always been taught "There are no such thing as a stupid question......" (you know the rest).

If asking a question is a crime, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.
