**** THE OFFICIAL: Why Jazz Fanz should be EXCITED thread ****

Let's put together a thread that will compile reasons to be optimistic and recent accomplishments as evidence.

1) We seem to finally have an apparent theme.. a vision. What was our goal two years ago? What was it last year? I think coming into this year we finally know. To play our young guys, build for the future and grab a few more elite draft picks/assets. What seems apparent to me is the Jazz of the past is .. past. We're not playing conservatively.. not playing it safe to barely make the playoffs.. as a result of fear of missing them. WE ARE BUILDING TO CONTEND for the first time I have ever seen.

2) We should recap draft night (someone please do it!) - Epic!

3) We need to recap this most recent trade (someone please do it!) - Epic!

4) I now have full confidence right now. Even with Ty. With all the hard work and RESULTS this FO has shown, they will not simply be passive with Ty handles things. I. AM. Certain. They have a plan on all things.

5) Anything else you can think of ..... jumbotron? ;)

Let's keep this thread going and document this new ERA of Jazz basketball.

Michael Stockton possibly our third PG. Thomas the Tank.

Reasons to be excited and have hope:

1. This is the C5s team now

2. Multiple picks in 2014, 2017 and 2nd rounders

3. Redone arena and new jumbotron

4. Sloan is a senior basketball advisor. Show that either Corbin or ownership (or both) knows help is needed on the coaching front

5. Malone is working with the bigs

6. Killer 2013 draft. Finally landed that PG we needed

7. 3 expiring contracts worth 24 million that we can apply towards our core in 2014

8. No Big Al and no Millsap

9. An amazing GM in Lindsey who is not afraid to be patient or aggressive when needed. He has vision and can keep sight of where we want to get to. I think he walks on water

10. An owner more willing to open up the purse strings

11. Lakers got rejected and lost some face publicly. Feels good

I am excited thinking how excited the young guys must be. I'm very happy for them. They must have a TON of positive nervous energy. Realize your dream of playing in the NBA and then suddenly have an opportunity to not only start, but start with a bunch of other young guys that you can build a REAL bond with... a sense a legacy afoot.

Draft night, I remember it like it was yesterday:

First shocker of the night, Anthony Bennett goes #1 to the Cavs!

The 2nd and 3rd picks go as expected, but how far is Noel and McLemore going to fall? No way Noel gets past the Bobcats at #4 right? No way he does.

Second shocker of the night, Cody Zeller goes #4 to the Bobcats! Say whaaaaat?

The Suns were trying to move up and grab Noel, but surprisingly he is still there at #5. Okay this time no way he gets past the Suns at #5.

Third semi-shocker of the night, Suns pass up Noel and McLemore and take Alex Len. What is going on??

Finally, Nerlens Noel goes #6 to the Pelicans and Ben McLemore goes #7 to the Kings.

No point guards have been taken yet, do the Jazz have a chance at one of the top one's?

Detroit is on the clock.. well there goes Burke, but Minnesota will take KCP at #9 leaving MCW and McCollum still on the board.

Breaking News: Pelicans trade Nerlens Noel, 2014 first-round pick to the 76ers for Jrue Holiday?

Wow! Now the 76ers need a point guard, now it will be very tough for a top point guard to be there at #14.

Detroit shocks everybody and takes KCP? Wait, so there is a chance?

Minnesota is on the clock at #9, well KCP is gone so they will take Shabazz no doubt.

Huh? Minnesota takes Trey Burke at #9? No way he stays there, just no way. Kahn left didn't he?

Trail Blazers take C.J. McCollum at #10, well kind of a shock, but how will he fit in with Lillard?

Breaking News: Minnesota trades Trey Burke to the Jazz for the #14, #21 picks!!!

Fast forward a little bit, Utah takes Shabazz Muhammad at #14 obviously it is for Minnesota which is no shocker.

Let's fast forward a little bit more, Utah takes Gorgui Dieng at #21 once again obviously for Minnesota again.

Well, let's just call it a night and take someone at #46.

Denver takes Rudy Gobert with the #27 pick, what a steal for them at that pick..

Breaking News: Denver trades Rudy Gobert to Utah for the #46 pick and cash.

"What?" - Bill Simmons

Wait, wait, wait, the Jazz got Gobert for a 2nd-round pick and cash? Huh? Did this really just happen?

Jazzfanz goes crazy and some are saying Lindsey is a god, which it seems like he is!

The Jazz just got two steals in the draft giving up the #14, #21, #46, and cash for the #9 and #27 picks.

Jazz get a A+ for a draft grade. Let's all talk on Jazzfanz and call it a perfect night.

The Jazz take Erick Green with the #46 pick and he is going to Denver. To reiterate it is a steal for the Jazz.

With the 47th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft the Atlanta Hawks select Raul Neto.

Breaking News: Atlanta trades Raul Neto to Utah for a future 2nd-round pick.

Is this a joke? Is Lindsey really pulling all of this stuff off? Wow! Another steal.

Jazz trade #14, #21, #46, a future 2nd-round pick, and cash for #9, #27, and #47.

What a night for the Utah Jazz.

12. An aggressive, young, hungry an talented core. Burke, Burks and Kanter seem especially aggressive. I think this team will have no fear.

I'm on my phone, but someone post Prodigy's latest video on the 2013 draft from the perspective of the Utah Jazz. It's awesome

His YouTube handle is memoismoney FYI

What a night for the Utah Jazz.

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

Jazz need to keep rigby off tv.

Number 13- jazz decide Rigby is a ****ing tard and ban him from all future lottery appearances.

Favors is going to be adding an arsenal of Malonesque moves to his repertoire, too.. Dunking on people like crazy. In fact, I am in for the win early to say Derrick Favors gets the dunk of the year. Who he dunks on? Any player in the NBA.

In a few years when we're getting around the 4th seed in the West and GS is terrible, fans around the league will be saying:

"Why the hell do the Jazz get an unprotected lottery pick this year??"

I am encouraged by what I'm seeing from the FO. With yesterday's trade, Lindsey/KOC could see that GS was reaching for Dwight and were desperate to stay in contention. The Jazz milked all the picks out of GS that they could while taking only expiring deals. Meanwhile, they knew that GS would lose Jarret Jack and Carl Landry and they wouldn't be able go get Dwight without sign-and-trade cooperation from the Lakers. They probably also knew Houston was the favorite. So the GS pick in 2014 has more upside. Golden State gave up 4 picks to make more or less a lateral move, overpaying Iguodala.

It shows that the Jazz front office is playing chess now, and they're playing to win. GMs win championships.

Lovely post. I just added a tiny bit.
