D Wade (lite) ... ??
I can't think of a perfect comp for Aaron Harrison, but his handle and hesitations out on the floor are similar to Tyreke Evans. I think he could play some PG if he wanted to. His strong drives look similar to Shabazz--although he's more athletic and less about overpowering people. His athleticism might be close to a young Demar DeRozan, which is saying a lot.
If I had to come up with one comp though, maybe I'd go with a slightly longer and more athletic version of James Harden. If he were in this year's draft, I think he could have been the top SG. Def has All Star potential.
I think he would have gone first SG.
He's not terribly athletic, but adequate, for sure.
Reke isn't a bad comp but Aaron is a deadly shot.
PKM - any idea why Aaron slipped to #23 on DX mock draft???
I've wondered. The only thing I could think of is that he's just under 6'6 and not an above average athlete. I think if he continues to be able to score like he has been that he'll shoot back up the board.
He looks pretty above average to me. What's average nowadays? He's more athletic than Shabazz, imo. At least as athletic as Harden.
Here's a question: where do you think Favors would go in the 2014 draft, given how he's turned out so far ?
I would say 6th behind...
Wiggins
Randle
Parker
Harrison
Exum
I think Exum has a lot to prove, but I could see Favors going 4th or 5th depending on how Andrew Harrison does.
I mention it, because a fall-back position for the Jazz would be to trade Favors and a pick to move up into the top 6 for Parker or one of the Harrisons. Gobert will probably provide good rim protection and pick-and-roll defense when he bulks up. The combination of Kanter on offense and Gobert on defense might make Favors moderately expendable, if need be. Adding an elite wing gives us better floor balance.
I think this coming season should really tell us how good Favors can be as a defender. If he can consistently be our defensive pivot, and give us scoring here and there, I think he's not worth trading for anyone not named Wiggins.
Comparing Wiggins to Tmac is a joke. Wiggins is on his own level in terms of strength, feel and explosion. He shows potential to do things that literally no one has done before. He could be the Dr. J of our time, maybe better.
Parker is also better than Paul Pierce. I'm not sure who to compare him to yet, but he's so well rounded that he could be like a more up-to-date version of Alex English.
I think Randle is like Chris Webber with some modern enhancements--an athlete who can do things that PFs normally can't do out on the floor. Webber was a break-through for the PF position at his time. Mentally, Webber just wasn't tough enough though.
What kind of players will be available around 20ish (likely Golden State)? We could use a quality back up big man.
