I would want Rush starting over Burks. Rush would be a better complement to Burke (assuming he starts). You'd have Burke and Hayward who can handle the ball and make plays. Burks can be that guy off the bench. Or else our bench has nobody who can do that.

He doesn't necessarily have to play less minutes than Rush, but I would like to see him come in with the 2nd unit based on our current roster.
 
I like the moves we are doing this off season. Biedrins will be a good backup for Enes and Favors, Jefferson won't put that much in, but he is ok and Brandon Rush is the best name in the trade, i think he will fit very well. I still have doubts about Hayward being too weak to guard big SFs. That's why i would go for Hayward at 2 and Jefferson at 3 as starter. And Rush and Marvin Williams can be back up duo. Honestly, as much as i like Burks, i would get him traded. It would be better for the team and his future. Because he is simply not a good fit for Jazz. He can use his talents better somewhere else.

And Thanks God Big Al is not coming back. This year we will see how good Utah can be in next 3-4 yrs because the guys we put all our hopes on, Enes, Favors and Hayward will be the 3 main actors this year. We will see how good they can be and how much they can carry this burden this year. This year will be a critical test for these 3 and the whole franchise. I think we should have done this rebuilding move 2 yrs ago but there is nothing yet lost. I am hopeful for the upcoming season, even if we may not make the playoffs, the team can still prove the supporters that they will be a contender with current core in next couple years, and i think this is what we all expect. Only question in my mind is Corbin. He really doesn't give me the idea that he is a coach with potential. He has the flexibility that was lacking in Sloan, but he doesn't have anything else. I hope i am wrong, but Corbin seems to be a low level coach for me, he can only coach adequate playoff teams at best.

Normally no. With the situation the Jazz are currently in and what they are trying to do and the players involved. You bet your butt it is. Absolutely fantastic trade.

Jazz never have had a score first, super athletic, cocky, alpha dog type shooting guard.

The jazz love the curl play, back door cuts, pick and rolls foe the bigs to score, spot up 3's, post ups etc etc.

Burks skills are best suited for isolation 1 on 1 type plays and getting transition baskets.
Hopefully he can change his game to suit the jazz cause the jazz will never run stuff to suit burks skills

Jazz plays and MUST play team ball, Burks is an individual talent, he can only dribble , create his own shot and score, but he isn't a very good fit for teams like us who shares the ball equivalently on every player. More than that, he is not a good duo with Hayward at 2-3, so that we can't defend strong players.

That's why the best interest of Jazz would be trading him while he has a decent value before his contract year.

Good call, but i am against changing players' way of play.That would limit their talent. They better off finding the coach and team to best suit their talents. Honestly from day 1, i was thinking it was much better for us to pick Leonard instead of Burks, (who was picked right before Burks i think). Burks is a good player, he is just not the right guy for us.

his eldest bro, JaRon is one of the original poster children for "dont declare too early"... he hit a game winner vs #1 Stanford when he played for ucla, thought he was going to be a 1st round lock as a sophomore and didnt get drafted.

so yeah i think rush wll be focused, as he has been for years, i hope his injuries havent slowed him too much, this was a player who threw down many many viscous dunks in college, im most interested to see how he fits at SF, and defends the perimeter

Man your an idiot..He went to prep school because of grades. Had nothing to do with his jumper. His jumper has always been decent.. YOu are one that sits by a computer all day and reads (cuz your a nerd) and thinks he has all type of inside info.. It was grades dude.
 
I am happy that he is here. I hope he starts with Hay at 3. Can spread the floor for bigs and Burks can take greater role with the second unit.
