Who are you??

Actually this is very accurate.

The first poker night I showed up to Troutbum was talking about the General Discussion forum and I was like, bro I'm not a ****ing nerd, I don't post in there. Once I moved to STG I realized I definetely am a ****ing nerd and it was off to the races.

Yes, but I'm working on it.

28 year old male. Grew up mostly in Sandy. Lived in the bay area, Salt Lake and Utah counties, all over Ohio (mission), Missouri and now central Texas. I'm married with two very crazy kids that keep us on our toes. I just finished medical school and we've just moved to Texas last month to start residency (psychiatry). Right now it kinda sucks. I'm on two months of neurology followed by four months of internal medicine but after that will be home free. We just purchased a house and are first-time home owners. Oh yeah, it's also nice to get a paycheck. I like to cook when I've got a lot of time to do it. I specialize in spicy things (Mexican, Indian, etc.) I feel I've got pretty stellar defensive prowess. I'm over 6'0" by NBA measurement standards and can comfortably guard guys up to 6'7"ish, which is nice because they don't assume I can guard them at first. My pet peeve is guys who assume that because they're big it means they need to guard the big guy. Or guys who are good offensively then assume they need to guard the opposing team's best player with poor defense. My offense is below average but I'm aware of that. I'm not a PG but do have good vision and will either hit the open guy or will get someone open and hit them. Unfortunately, I had a complete rupture of my Achilles and am now 6 weeks post op from church ball. In the past two years I've broken my nose, had a very minor wrist fracture and now that.

Been a Jazz fan as far as I remember but obviously as a 6 year old it's a bit different than now (a lot more disappointment on the line, I presume). I started posting on JazzFanz, as well as the now defunct JazzHoops, about 12 years ago or so. Had great times back then and received a universal permaban from ezboard after I got banned from JazzHoops. Bordelais and I tried to start another forum that never took off. I think the only other person that posted was fromRussia. For going on roughly two years I've been posting almost exclusively from my phone.

32. 6'4''...230-ish.

Lived in and around Toronto (North York, Mississauga) until I was 14. Dad took a job in the San Joaquin Valley in '95, and I lived and went to high school there. Became Mormon while in California, served a mission in North Carolina, Indonesia, Singapore (briefly), Brisbane (Australia), and back to Indonesia. Attended BYU and taught at the MTC, battled depression and anxiety, decided to start fresh, and left the Church and Utah 7 years ago (officially I was dismissed from BYU for academic reasons, although, per some administrator, I could have stayed). Moved to NW Washington State (lived across town from my parents, who had moved there not long before), worked in a plastic extrusion factory and union sheet metal shop for two years. Decided I needed a change, packed up and moved to the Eastern Townships of Quebec (my parents own a vacant house there on 50 acres in the middle of nowhere). Mom convinced me to apply for school before I left (there's a little rural english university about an hour's drive from the house). Worked for a second cousin in Plattsburgh, NY for a couple weeks restoring Airstream trailers before being accepted to school. Cruised through. Moved to Toronto 2 years ago, received an MA (Econ) a year ago from York University, and somehow lucked my way into the University of Toronto to pursue a PhD in Economics (I'm still not officially through Year 1...this could all end badly in a bit more than a month).

I'm boring, sad and lonely for the most part. I like listening to the wind, watching movies, Jazz basketball, sharing good food and conversation with close friends and family (which happens about 3x per year). I have little tolerance for other social interaction.

I also like hugs.
Still trying to figure out why you hate every breathing human but me.

I remember you telling me about this. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you-- it would be an amazing opportunity if things work out. Best of luck, and let us know if things end well!!

You do realize we're all basically the same on whatver that space-time continuum ******** was in that one movie, right?

Only reason you say this is because you're a ****ing fossil yourself.
