Not understanding the Memphis hate. I mean, it's a dangerous city, but what major city isn't?
Exactly. Plus there are some really good, classy areas as well. Germantown and Covington come to mind. Avoid Orange Mound and Millington though.
Plus there are tons of cool places to eat. Memphis has a nice mix of food. Close to the midwest, south, bayou...
That is what we call "blind hate" or someone being a hater. Don't even let it faze you. Just keep on walking buddy.
Go to Memphis and May. Also it might be slightly over rated but it is still damn good.

I have never been to a barbeque place that wasn't overrated. If there is a good one, someone is going to act like it's the best thing ever made.
On my road trip we went through Austin Texas and there is this place called Franklin's. We stood outside in line for 4 hours before eating. People do that every single day just to eat here. Probably the most amazing brisket I have ever had.

Nope, I never eat pork. I manage, though. Most people tell me that if they had to stop eating one type of meat, it'd be pork. It's not too devastating. It sucks for cold cuts sometimes, cuz a good portion of them contain pork. But otherwise its not too crazy
