What's new

Anyone else realize that Demarre is still a free agent?

The Hawks never officially signed him when the moratorium ended on July 10th. I say we re-sign him since he is the heart and soul of this team and get rid of this Summer League clown Clark that has no NBA credentials. The Jazz are going to have a tough time selling tickets this season with all the offseason changes so it makes sense to bring back the JYD who will give you 100% effort all the time and has earned the right to be a part of this Jazz youth movement.

The Jazz are not going to have a tough time selling tickets this season as you think. I would rather watch these guys go out and compete vs. watching Jefferson score and play no defense, Williams chuck up poor looks and Sap play as a former shell of himself.

I believe I read somewhere that season ticket sales this season were on par with previous seasons.

Who's minutes is he going to take? That's my question love his hustle but let's not mess up the tanking for Wiggins

He shot 29% from the 3.
He takes too many chances on defense. Not that great of a defender.
He can't dribble much which really sucks for a player that can't shoot either.

I swear fans get blinded by guys with dreads that bounce around a lot.

We need guys that can spread the court for Favors and Kanter. Along with our slashers in Hayward, Burks & Burke.

If you can't shoot the 3 than we don't want ya!

Burks and Carroll are so overrated here. Almost as overrated as Brewer in his popularity peak. Lol.

i guess you're a fan of raja bell, josh howard and randy foye

it's not about that he's overrated, it's about the fact that he was not given a fair chance to earn his spot

damn, even with a better preseason he was dnp behind foye.. and where is foye now?

Hey that 'babe' is already dating the new guy. When someone starts fooing around with someone else you don't take em' back, you move on, otherwise your the needy type, and the Jazz can't afford to be that guy, bad for the image.

(yeah, I called Carroll a chick. He does have long hair, but he'd make an ugly one for sure)

1. It's not a coincidence the Jazz were consistently good when Carroll was on the court. There's always room for a hyper-competitive energy guy, even if the skills are lacking somewhat. He's obviously not a starter, or even 20+ minute per game player, but he's useful. Changes the game.

2. Hayward is not a slasher. He's been woefully inefficient attacking the basket for his career. His first step and finishing ability are both below average. Dude is an elite off-ball scorer, solid transition and defensive player, and can run some pick and roll in a pinch.

Any chance there is a sign and trade deal going on between Utah and Atlanta? I know Lindsey had some quote hinting at things going down next week. Does ATL have any contracts they need to shed?

Not really. Lou Williams, DeShawn Stevenson and Al Horford are the only guys making over $1.4mm who weren't signed this offseason. DeShawn's contract is unguaranteed, and Horford won't just be dumped. I don't see why they'd jettison Lou either.

They officially signed at least one player (Pero Antic) since they made a verbal agreement with Carroll.

Kind of strange; but I wouldn't read too much into it.

I agree to a degree. I don't think the team is or should be thinking about the future over the present. I think they believe they have good but unproven players and want to know for sure what they have. I think they are willing to miss the playoffs and lose some to discover this. I hope they win more games than everybody thinks they will. I have a hard time voting for this team to lose. However win or lose this team is going to be 10X as fun to watch and I will definitely catch more than the 10 full games I watched last season. May even go to one.

While I don't think there's a trade in the works, if there was, I would take Lou Williams in a heartbeat.

No chance they would trade him for Carroll though.
