The current jazz resembles the old kings?

The more I think about the current core 5, the more I think they resemble the Sacramento kings in the old days, lets hope Corbin can do a better job than Rick Adelman.

PF: C WEB vs D Favors, Favors resembles Web's rebounding/blocking skills minus the jump hook C Web possess.
SF: Peja vs Howard, Howard resembles Peja's 3 pointer shooting skills minus the accent Peja possess.
C: Divac vs Kanter, Kanter resembles Divac's low post skills minus the beard and passing skills Divac possess.
SG: Christie vs A Burkes, Burkes resembles Christie's height and wingspan minus the lockdown defensive skills Chritie possess.
PG: Bibby vs Trey: Trey resembles Bibby's clutch shooting skills minus the upper body strength Bibby possess.

The most important things Jazz and Old Kings have in common?

The fans!! I wouldn't be surprised if Energy Solution Center becomes the loudest arena this season!!!

Besides fans you are way way off. Weber was elite scorer and passer which Favors is neither. Divac was second best passing center in NBA history, while Kanter was arguably worst in his rookie season and still is below mediocre passer. Peja, Christie, Bibby all of them were hitting three point shots on regular basis and could pass the ball very well. That Kings team was best passing team and their offense was pure pleasure to watch.
Now on the other hand what do we have with Jazz and Corbin? Besides Hayward who is good passer we have two players on the court who are below mediocre passers, average in Burks and unknown in Burke. And coach who likes iso ball. How the hell that compares to Kings and their offense?

Adelman's a stud. The Kings beat the Lakers in game six of 2002. It was stolen by typical NBA officiating shenanigans. It was ********. That kings team was awesome. I wish the Jazz were that good.

Weber was elite scorer and passer which Favors is neither.

In King's best season which is 02-03, C Web's average was 23 pts, 10.5 rbs, 5.4 assists, 1.3 blks
Favors last season average was 9.4 pts, 7.1 rbs, 1 assist, 1.7 blks

Webber played 39 mins vs Favors' 21 mins, so Favors get same amount of playing time, he would be around 20 pts, 14 rbs, 2 assists, 3.4 blks.

To me, that's about even!!

Divac was second best passing center in NBA history, while Kanter was arguably worst in his rookie season and still is below mediocre passer.

In King's best season which is 02-03, Divac 's average was 9.9 pts, 7.2 rbs, 3.4 assists
Kanter last season average was 7.2 pts, 4.3 rbs, 0.4 assist

Divac played 29 mins vs Kanter' 15 mins, so kanter get same amount of playing time, he would be around 14 pts, 8 rbs, 1 assists.

To me, that's about even!!

Peja, Christie, Bibby all of them were hitting three point shots on regular basis and could pass the ball very well.

In King's best season which is 02-03, Peja is 38.2% on three, Bibby is 40.9% on three, Chritie is 39.5% on three
Gordon Hayward last season is 41.5% on three, Alex Burks is 35.9% on three, Rush is 41.3% career on three. We dont know how good Trey is on three, but he is known for his clutch shooting in college and % might not matter that much.

To me, we are pretty even on three %, both around 40% overall.

Sure, our big men aren't nearly good in passing as the kings' big men, but it might not matter! they will get more offensive rebounds to make up for that.

Favors couldn't hold Webber's jock. Webber was amazing. There has never been a big man with Webber's skill set. If you compare Favors to Webber, you haven't seen Webber play.

Let's not overdo it. Weber had a unique skillset but also had an affinity for taking long jumpers which tanked his TS% to Al Jefferson levels. Favors is also a far better free throw shooter and defender at the same age. Despite all that talent. a Webber led team never sniffed the finals.

Also, the extrapolation of statistics based on playing time is not very telling. To average 23ppg like Webber, you do it against starters and finishers. (Or you are the only player on your team and shoot all the time.)

85-86 Boston Celtics

Jazz remind me much more of the 85-86 Celtics:

Hi IQ small forward playmaker/ passer and deadly outside shooter: Bird/ Hayward
Dominant 4-5 combination with post moves and inside defense galore: McHale-Parrish/ Favors-Kanter
Clutch shooting and slashing guard: Dennis Johnson/ Burks
Useless Center off the bench: Greg Kite/ Biendris
Defensive stopper Center on the bench: Bill Walton/ Gobert
Brainy backup guard and future NBA coach: Rick Adelman/ Lucas.

(tongue firmly in cheek)

2002 Kings were awesome. Game 6 fourth quarter was worst officiating I've ever seen, gave the game to the Lakers (Kobe clears space, elbowed Bibby in the face, foul on Bibby, for example). And then the Kings completely choked in game 7 and lost in OT.

Agree with you there. Only Hayward has been a starter. Kanter and Favors have played largely against backups and have absolutely disappeared at times. Burks has hardly played. And Burke? Guy couldn't even hit a shot against SL scrubs. This Jazz team is going to struggle...a lot!

Completely agree I've only seen one call as bad since. I Believe Tim donahea on that game being rigged

Kings record in 2002-2003 59-23, predicted Jazz record in 2013-2014 23-59

yup, to me it is about even!

Pretty harsh statement given G6 2002 WCF. They had a trip to the finals ripped from them.

To stay on topic we are weaker than the '02 Kings at every position, the bench, and have a ridiculously significant advantage in coaching.

Sorry but this is worse than bleacher writers. There's no common sides between Jazz and Old kings except they both in NBA.
