Have you ever tried a vaporizer? I hear they are much easier on the lungs.

I have. They work well but you miss the taste (or more accurately, it's a different taste and I prefer the smoked taste). I smoke so little now (I would estimate literally around 0.05 grams a day) that I'm not concerned about the lung damage anymore (as a comparison, if a cigarette contains approximately 0.8 grams...0.05*365 = 18.25....18.25/0.8 = 22.8...so in essence in weight I smoke about 23 cigarettes worth of weed a year).

But in those days it would have been something to look into.

So you basically smoke a bowl a day?

I'm a user of vaporizers for nicotine. As I got older, smoking was becoming debilitating to my social life. I don't mind the addiction aspect of nicotine, but the anti-social aspect of cigarette smoking in some regards was enough to cut it. My pocket vape does the trick amazingly without the social implications and judgmental looks casted by a Utah society who take you as a leper (never mind the costs). No smell or smoke, and kind on the lungs. I'm an otherwise responsible and professional individual. Incidentally, I'm not one of those types of people who meshes well with constant smokers that the anti-Utah culture tends to breed.

As far as dope goes, I'm high errday

LOL @ this post. I love how you blame everyone else for your problems.

Yeah, I am one of those anti-smoking people here in Utah. But guess what, I won't cast you judgmental looks, I'll go up to you and tell you that you stink, that your smoke is ruining my day, that you are putting my kids health at risk, and to put that **** out.

I bet you whine about how the Mormons come to your door and try to force their religion on you, but you have no problem forcing your habit on everyone else. At least with the Mormons you can shut the door and they are gone. I smell you long after you have left.

That seemed overly harsh, unnecessary, and one-sighted. I've never smoked in my life, but I got what he was saying.
Imo, he wasn't solely blaming being judged by others, he was also implying how hard it is in a social setting to be constantly having to get up from (i.e.) the table at a restaurant to go outside and smoke every 20 minutes. That's just an example.. but ..

And.. I totally agree that smokers are looked down upon in today's society. I think that's just true.
I don't have a single thing against the person, deep down, but when I (i.e.) see a cigarette hanging out a car window I have sub-conscious thoughts akin to thinking of them being weak-willed, unorganized in their life.. all things that are completely UNFAIR. I shouldn't have those thoughts or feelings but I do.

ANY smoker that reads this shouldn't take offense, though I would if it were reversed. I am simply responding to green that smokers are, in fact, sized up.. and in Utah more than anywhere. Is that their problem? Absolutely. It's a choice to smoke.

It was overly harsh, but there are some buzz words that he used that just really tick me off.

"anti-Utah culture"

"judgmental looks casted by a Utah society"

It came off to me that he was blaming me for his problem.

Now, I don't care if you smoke, just like I don't care if you are mormon, catholic, don't give a damn, muslim, worship cats on tuesdays. That's great. Do what makes you happy. I do care if you worship cats on Tuesdays in my front yard. I care if you are smoking in front of a store, when you KNOW you are supposed to be 25 ft away, and I have to drag my kids through your cloud. Just like you would be pissed off if I peed my pants and smelled like a dumpster and stood in front of the doors generally invading your personal space.

My problem with smokers isn't that they smoke. Its when they feel like they don't need to follow the laws and invading my space is my problem. I don't want to walk down main street in Disney and smell smoke. There are places you can go to smoke. Go there and smoke. I don't want to go to dinner and smell your smoke. Go to the bar, or step outside AWAY from the door and smoke.

Do what you want, just allow me to do the same, and don't blame me for the choices you have chosen to make.

Man, slow day, my panties are all up in a twist, aren't they?

People get that smelling smoke and being exposed to dangerous second hand smoke are two different things, right? If you are freaking out because you have to smell something you don't like for a couple seconds...grow the **** up and stop being a drama queen.

I've never been a smoker, but when I see people freaking out because they were "exposed" to second hand smoke because they caught a ****ing whiff of it I just want to smack the **** out of them. At my last job someone threw a fit because they were walking to their car and someone else was smoking in their car with the window down and they smelled it, so they wanted the company to prohibit smoking in you car in the parking lot.

You mention two COMPLETELY different things here.

1 - If you have a problem with someone in a parking lot, in their car, with their windows rolled up, then you need to rethink yourself.

2 - If you have a problem with walking into a store, with someone smoking by the front door when IT IS ILLEGAL TO DO SO, then you don't have to change anything. The smoker is wrong and you have every right to complain about that.

Two totally different scenarios. One makes you a baby, the other makes you right.

Car window DOWN. Person walked past the car to get to their own car and was assaulted by a cloud of smoke.

Sure, you want someone to follow the legally enforced courtesy of not standing by the door, you're in the right. Even if it wasn't the law it's just common courtesy.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about people acting like they're dying because they got a whiff of cigarette smoke. I'm talking about holier than thou pricks who act like cigarette smoke smell ruins their day.

Only time I get offended is when a smoker blows the smoke immediately in my direction. I was at a pub with some friends sitting at a bar top (table with four chairs in the bar area) where smoking is permitted. I wasn't offended that anyone was smoking (as it was allowed and it was my choice to be there).. but a woman at the table next to us was smoking and didn't want to exhale into her crowd so she would blow over her shoulder.. into my face. I wanted to smack the **** out of her even though I knew it wasn't intentional..

but rather than continue to sit in a cloud of smoke, I just moved over a table.. no scene.

If only you had followed this same code of conduct on #n9 when you confronted confederate bandana guy.

My attorney advised me that the statute of limitations on assault charges had expired.

See, I agree with what you did 100%. You were in a pub, smoking is allowed, you chose to be there, and decided to be the bigger person. Much different than walking into 7-11 and having someone standing at the door smoking like a chimney.

Wow you sound like a (insert extremely offensive word here). Ruining your day? Good god.
